My experience with Mobileciti has been atrocious so not phased I spent more at JB (where my experience was excellent with a faulty V20). LG support is abysmal and JB really helped… Shudder to think what service Mobileciti would give.

To those that have had opposite experiences, this is a great deal.

    • +1

What did JB do with your fault V20 at the time?

      • +5

Kept it. LG refused to fix it as they said image retention (ghosting) is expected with LCDs.

Both times JB sent it in they said it wasn't faulty.

Then they said to just go and choose any other phone and either be refunded or pay the difference.

        • +4

That's pretty good. Thanks for explaining.

        • Why people supporting LG
It is well known fact that LG never acknowledged or offered resolution to their faulty phones.

    $437 @ Amazon - Sold.

  • Missed it again

can this be upgraded to new android or is it stuck on 7.1?

    • Comes with 8.0

      • Says "OS Version" "Android 7.1 (Nougat)" in the ebay ad

        • +1

My JB variant was on 8.0 out of the box.

Not sure why I was negged.

          • @giventofly:

Not sure why I was negged.

Because your information seems to contradict the officially stated information

            • @illumination: Or the eBay page hasn't been updated since the phone was launched. The phone is probably still being manufactured. They won't ship it with 7.1 even after updating to 8.0.

              • @giventofly:

                I don't know the specifics - what's your source?

Anyway, my comment had a neg at 2 mins old so I assume it was you seeking revenge lol. I've pos'ed your initial comment (even though I'm neutral about it) to prove I didn't neg you - I was merely trying to explain based on what I could see.

    • LG said V30 will get Pie Q2 2019, so, it makes this deal better.

  • Got one

  • +3

How dated is this phone? Nearly a year and a half old now…

  • -1

I just released one from my eBay cart. Good luck!

    • +4

I doesn't work that way. It wasn't reserved for you. If you tried to complete checkout and they ran out of stock in the interim, you would have been unable to complete your purchase.

      • There you go… I just learnt something new today.

  • Darn, feeling bummed now that I actually managed to get one at JB Hifi!

What kind of proof do you need for that these days if I just said it was $437 at amazon?

    • Me too. But cashback takes forever anyway, but bum feeling still.

    • Just fly somewhere and get the tax back :)

    • I dont think JB will price match for for the $437 as that is after a coupon

  • Should I get B&O earphone with this one?

  • Wow, that sold out quickly.

  • +11

    Hey guys, just restocked.

    • how many do you have available? :)

      • Says More than 10 now…

Mobilecitit just did a deal with JB lol

    • Thanks for releasing more, think I've managed to snaffle one :)

    • Thanks TAF. Do these come with a tax invoice so i can claim back GST vis TRS?

      Cheers

  • +2

Back in stock, ordered one. Love LG

  • Got one, thanks.

  • +4

Honestly didn't expect the JB price to be beaten! Having said that, I'm feeling much more confident buying from them with their service and ease of returns if/when need be.

    • Me either. But, I do like that it's local and can return if there's problems to them. So maybe peace of mind? Who knows.

    • +3

      Agreed.

I had image retention issues with a Moto G5 I bought from Mobileciti. I am in Vic and it was a nightmare dealing with them.

Their solution to get rid of the image retention was to lower screen brightness.

    • Did not have problems with MobileCiti

  • if someone could help me please, this would be eligible for TRS claim isn't it?

    • +1

      Yes

      • Thanks for your prompt reply.

        • Make sure you put their name (the person who's helping you) on the receipt though

    • +1

      i sure do hope so

    • +1

yes because its over 300 dollars, as long as you travel within 60 days of purchase

      • Salary sacrifice and TRS don't combine well, right ?

  • Struggling to find clear information about the difference between V30 and V30+… does it have the same camera, for example?
Also, anyone got experience installing LineageOS or similar on it? How easy was it?

    • +3

The only difference is the storage capacity, they’re identical apart from that.

  • so tempted!

    • +2

Go for it, at this price and if you need a new phone, nothing better.

  • Can't decide whether to buy from eBay Mobileciti for $441.52 (inc. shipping, no ebay plus), or spend +$38 (+travel) and getting one from JB (assuming they have them in stock nearby), just for the convenience and possible ease of warranty related issues… thoughts ?

    • No stock risk !! Go for it online !

    • +1

Come on dude OzBargain 101: buy first, think later!

    • If I had my chance again, I would go with Mobileciti deal. Because, cheaper.

  • What screen protectors do you guys plan on using on this? Also to go custom rom or not.

    • Not many screen protector option on ebay…hmmm

      • Yeah can't find many on ebay. Nuglass ok?

    • I would recommend this one for $6, shipped in 10 days.

      • Screen still look/feel as nice?

        • +1

Nothing ever looks as nice as the original screen, but it looks good to me - better than the flat protectors that dont cover all the screen, better than the dodgy curved ones with adhesive edges that trap dust in the space betwen the screen and the protector, feel much better than the TPU/hydrogel sheets.
Touch sensitivity appears unaffected, and I would guess it has a similar friction and feel to the original glass.
They dont mention if the glass is oleophobic but it seems easy to keep clean.

      • How’d you get $6? Shows as USD $3.85 + USD $4.37 shipping = ~AUD $11.30

        • It was free shipping when I ordered.
Looks like they are now charging for shipping. Sorry guys.

        • Looks like free shipping is back on again.
          https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Akcoo-3D-Curved-Tempered-Gla…?

          • @[Deactivated]: If this thing break, how in the world would you get the glass off with that glue behind it…

            • @Fuzor: Funny you should mention this. I dropped my phone yesterday from about 1.25m onto a wooden floor. The protector didn't break but it separated from the screen for the lower left corner.
I was able to separate the protector slightly to drop a little LOCA in and re cured. It left a bit of a seam though.
This leads me to think it should be fairly easy to separate if it needs removal. It doesn't look like it makes a strong bond.
I've ordered another I've and will redo it when it arrives.

              • @[Deactivated]: Hi. Would you recommend this Screen Protector with UV lamp? +I guess you still need phone case in addition, right? Thanks.

      • What’s with the different colour options? You need to select one from 3 options each of which looks slightly different shading but description says clear?

        • The "colour" options let you choose the phone model. In this case v30, the other "colours" are different model phones.

          • @[Deactivated]: Update on removal, I was able to use a plastic pry tool to pretty easily take the protector off.
Once you separate, it comes away almost like the standard tempered glass protectors. Needed a little more care to ensure I didn't snap it.
I tried reapplying the LOCA, but there wasn't quite enough. Looks a bit more dodgy now, but should hold until the cavalry arrives in a week or so.

      • So you had to put UV glue in between phone screen and protector. Is the glue transparent? That sounds weird to me.

        • The glue is clear, but you have to use the UV light that comes with it to dry the glue.

  • stock is back on NOW. Got one. Thanks.

  • Just brought one from JB and found this post … sad .. so sad …

    • can't refund?

      • +1

Yep if unopened no issues I am sure.

        • Sad .. it has been opened … anyway doesn't matter as I have to clean my mess isn't it.
Hopefully I can enjoy the PUBG with no lag :D

          • @OzYY: PUBG?

            • @asa79: A game like Fortnite. A console game that runs on your phone if it's powerful enough. Hence, no lag.

    • +1

Well for $38 more if you ever have any issues with it JB will fix it way easier.

      • Ah, do they deal with the warranty?

      • Not my experience with JB. First they make out it's your fault and try and sell you a replacement. Then if that doesn't work they tell you to take it the nearest authorised repairer.

I went into JB to price match and they said only the website price. So i went with Mobiciti on ebay.

  • I have the S8.
Should I do it or nah
    someone egg me on please!!!

    • +2

I think S8 takes better photos than this phone.

      • I have a S8 and sick of the lag. Photos will be similar, but you get a two year warranty, 128GB of storage and that tasty wide angle camera.

        • +1

I think lag mostly caused by firmware update. A phone should not need to be upgraded every time the manufacturer release update, coz as you upgrade the firmware, it demands more work and affect the hardware's performance, creates lags. with S5, I stopped at Android 5.0 and no issue, no lag. just my 2 cents.. im not the expert in this area

      • Photos are no way similar. S8 is better for cameras.
Reviews for the camera for this LG v30+ are disappointing (if photo quality is important to you)
but it is "ultra wide angle", which is very useful.

    • +2

nah mate… im still using S5 and no intention to upgrade. save your money

      • should have listened to this guy;) My S5 is having minor problems which I've used to convince myself it must be replaced!

  • Hi Guys,

I am having MOTO G5 S plus.. Does this phone have better camera than that?

    • OMG YES

    • definitely.. this one has 2 lens :P

      • Even my Moto has 2 lens

        • oh then no need,.. get mate 20 Pro, mate hahah

  • How does warranty work with Mobiciti? Do we have to post it in case of any issues?

    • I went through Amazon and they have a great return policy!

      • They only do if you bought something that is fulfilled by them. And also if you're their Prime member it sometimes help.

  • They seem to replenish stock levels quickly… makes me wonder, do they actually have the stock, or would likely have to order in, therfor leading to a longer delivery/dispatch time ?

    • Hi Widget,

We expect all currently received orders to be shipped out by tomorrow afternoon. So yes, no issues with stock =)
