  • Are they made in China?

    • +2

      Nope,Made in Australia :)

    • No, Australia.

      • -2

        Australia = China

        • generally but, the owners are from Fiji

      Brisbane

  • Good beer snack

    • Yes, good, complementary protein inside, Roaches!

  • Is this a westernised version of the Indian Bhujia snack?

    • +6

sort of. started by an indian family friend of ours. think the warehouse is in brissy. they taste so good

      • Yeah Brisbane.

      • +6

Could you please suggest to them, reduce the salt content. I’d buy more if it’s not too salty. Thanks!

      • Don't listen to unloadmymind. The salt is on the level. If anything, suggest to them to provide ones that are fried in higher quality oils, please. Veg oil is just… eh.

    • -2

Fiji Indian recipe I guess. Not exactly the same as Indian snacks. Haldiram's is one of the good brands of Indian snacks as you might know.

  • alright! time to stock up on office snacks :D

  • Very unhealthy but tasty!

    • The beer mix pack is sooo good

    • Forgive my ignorance but could you enlighten me as to how they are 'very' unhealthy?

      • +4

        Carbs + salt + fats I guess.

        • -2

Guess ill just eat pure protein… lol

        • doesn't that go for most beer snacks?

          • @Jonski: Maybe. I'd be surprised if any of them were healthy to eat.

      • High sodium, carbs and fat! Like others suggested it's a good beer mix haha

    • Any origonal Indian snacks are more unhealthy than these as they have more oil, salt and often sugar in addition to spices. There is no concept of 'healthy' snacks in Indian cuisine. I would say Bhuja is fairly on the healthier side. Your hands don't get much greasy when you eat them unlike some other tastier snacks. Haha.

  • Yea, these are good for beer

  • Do these taste like Indian food?

    • All Indian food doesn't taste the same. Which Indian food are you referring to?

  • Can you buy Indian snacks like these in bulk cheap at Indian shops?

    • For sure. There are several brands, local and imported from India. Haldirams and Bikano are a couple of reputed nation brands. There are many other smaller brands from the western part of India, from where most of these snacks come from.

PS: You should try Indian maggi flavours. They have recently started keeping them in some Woolies and Coles as well. Their 'Masala' Maggi is to die for even though it has no meat. Why did I even eat other flavours of Maggi all these years!!!

      • Thanks for the info. Which brand you would recommend?

Haven't had Maggi in a long time

    • you can - you would not want to go there though. The $1.92 for 200grams at WW is better value and, you won't suffer afterwards

I wish they lowered the salt content. These are sickeningly salty.

    • That's the flavour. Isn't it? You either like it or you don't. A lot of Indian snacks do taste like that. Calling it salty or normal depends on your eating habits. Sushi or a non-grilled sandwich are a bit too raw for me but not for many others, for example.

      • +1

High salt 🧂 = bad for the 💔 heart. 😢

      • Salt isn't the flavour. It may affect it but less would make it much better.

  • +1

    This price is nuts!

  • Swear these are one dollar at my work

    • +1

      I believe for small packing

      • I really don't tend to notice. I just pick up the deliveries and go

  • +3

My fav of the range is the ancient grain twist- but agree they're all quite salty (not uncommon for nuts snacks), if they could reduce the sodium content that'd be gem!

This deal does not excite me.

  • These are frequently “half-price”, at what point is this item just overpriced until it is on “special” again?
People love these snacks and I think this is a sales tactic.

    • Username checks out.

  • With the change in packaging print, there seems to be a significant drop in quality of these snacks.

  • Maajin Buu's favourite snack

  • This or beef jerky as snack?

  • Look what I found in Bhuja snacks. Disgusting… This may be one of the ingredients of the secret recipe…

I bought this from Woolworths Townhall. Take a note of the batch number and if anybody has a packet with them check it before eating…

    Update: 21/01/2019

I contacted Bhuja and these clowns are unbelievable. They sent the normal customer care response (pasted below).. which basically says..

Cockroach? Sorry..Give us your number..Share your experience at our website. Also let us know if you find more cockroaches….

we're very sorry to see you have had this negative experience with Bhuja. We have a quality control process with our snacks and we are as shocked as you are that this has happened. I have contacted our head office so this can be escalated immediately as we take it very seriously.
Are you able to provide your best contact information so our team can contact you? Also, are you able to enter your experience here http://majans.com/feedback/ so it can be sent directly to our product team.
Again, we're deeply sorry this has been your experience with Bhuja and please let us know if anything like this ever happens again.
    Regards,

I now filed a complaint with NSW food authority

If you got an apology and a method to escalate the complaint - What else were you expecting from the initial complaint to the company?

  • +1

Love these with an icy cold beer. This company also makes the Infuzions chips/crackers that are also half price at Coles, ending today. They are pretty good too.

  • +1

Bhuja Hot Mix is also a good option :)
