Do People Use eBay.com in Place of eBay AU for The 1% Cashback?

Apparently this works, but does anyone here do this? Just a US ebay account needed with australian address?

EDIT: I see, things like Velocity and Flybuys wouldn't work on US site.

If you have an ebay AU gift card, and use in ebay US, then what do hey use as the usd aud conversion? Is it the crappy paypal 3% spread?

  I bought a USD item from Ebay AU with a giftcard a few months back and it gave me and exact conversion, not the shitty paypal conversion. Hopefully it would be the same the other way around.
