  • Decent, whats with the dodgy cases, just for display?

    • +1

It's Costco Display Case, which is used to pay for at the register. After checkout, you can collect the actual game with the correct case from Merchandise Pickup.

    • Yeah, I think with some of the smaller, more valuable items you need to go a separate section after you pay to pick up the real product. Some stuff would just be so easy to steal. They don't have any security scanners anywhere and you can pretty much walk in and out without too much trouble.

    • Yeah dodgy cases, but they’ll give ya a freshly sealed copy once you pick it up

    • +2

I much prefer this to EB games having actual cases out and giving you an opened / possibly returned copy.

      • +1

Not to mention getting stuck with sometimes dirty and scuffed up cases.

Must have been an EB Games employee who negged you!

    Amazon match?

I've never been to a Costco, is it full of obese people pushing oversized trolleys?

    • +6

No, it's full of people pushing obese trolleys.

    • +1

YES .. And Shadow of The Tomb Raider is also available at Costco Ringwood VIC.

    • It is hilarious. The trolleys are massive and people still seem to fill them. The guy before us, one day, had a bill of $700.

      • Thays the problem there, you can spend $200 and gone out with 6 items of groceries

        • Yoghurt is 2kg minimum, sour cream is 1l, etc. there are a lot of things that are supersized. We have got some good deals at Costco, usually not in the groceries, because they sell brand products at good prices.

In Adelaide it certainly is… I try to tell myself they are buying for birthday party's but deep down I know it's just for them.

  • How is this game compared to the previous ones?

    • +1

Graphics are way better; completing the game 100% takes a bit more effort as some of the achievements are in irregularly difficult locations. If I were to rate them, I'd say RISE > Shadow > Tomb Raider.

      • Cool, thanks for that. The second half of RoTTR got pretty slow for me so I'm a bit undecided. I loved the first game, but I was a lot more into games back then anyways.

        • +1

Its worth it for this price

      • +1

My ranking would be TR > Rise > Shadow.

Don't play any of them for the story.

    • +1

I think it's the weakest of the trilogy, too much Ubisoft style busywork. Fun enough for this price though.

    • +2

There's about 50 skills to unlock, a lot of them are combat skills, but combat is de-emphasized in this game. There's much fewer enemies to kill, so many of those skills rarely get used if at all and aren't worth the skill points.

As others have mentioned, there's a lot of collectibles in the game. The city of Paititi is the worst in the series. Much of the things you gather aren't all that helpful.

The game's exploration-to-combat ratio has increased to Uncharted 4 levels. There are more parts in the game where you only explore and look at wall carvings than before. That might be a good thing depending on you.

  • any available in cosco sydney?
