Looks like the software still catching up to hardware but some may find it fun to have.

Say hey to Vector, your first home robot. Seriously, say Hey Vector. He can hear you. Actually, Vector's more than a home robot. He's your buddy. Your companion. Most of all, he'll make you laugh. Curious, independent, and powered by some preposterous tech and AI, he can read the room, express the weather, announce when his timer's done (no overcooked dinner on his watch), take the perfect snapshot, and so much more.

What's inside Vector? AI and advanced robotics.

Capacitive Touch Sensor – helps him sense being touched and held
Beam forming 4-Microphone Array – allows him to recognise natural speech and source
Ultra-Wide HD Camera – helps him detect motion and identify people
4 Drop Sensors – detects edges to help him avoid falls
Infrared Laser Scanner – lets him track distance and map environments
6-Axis Inertial Measurement Unit – so he knows when he’s picked up or moved
High-Res Colour IPS Display – helps him convey a wide range of emotions
WiFi-Enabled Cloud Connection – brings him new capabilities

      • Yeah but what does it do??!! lol

        • It's really good at pushing a box of redhead matches off the bench and onto the the floor.

  • Sound like just a toy.

    • Looks like you don't know how to reply to a comment :p

It doesn't look very good though imo

It does way too little to justify the price.

  • is this a good companion for a toddler? Like a never aging puppy…

    • I was thinking the exact same thing, considering to buy it for my 1 Year old daughter. Price seems a bit steep though.

Also, I am always wary about these things like if there is some "spying" going on from the other end.

Do you reckon it would still be around in 10years time? How many family photos would vector appear in?

      • I believe it can also take photos, so it will be on the other side of the camera..
Some children cannot have furry pets, for health reasons…

  • It is very expensive for the $20 of hardware that you get.

  • There are two versions this one is purely for adults as it has voice commands like Siri, it is connected to the internet so askit anything, the older version anki cozmo is another version not as smart but better for the kids, more of a toy as like it’s more of a tamagotchi you need to feed him play with him etc. I took mine back to jbhifi after a week.
