The Thai red curry is quite good, had it a couple of times.

  • Awesome. The San choy bow kit is great.
I can never justify the price so I'll be sure to check it out.

When you criticised something pls provide a constructive feedback to justify your views

          • @bola2000: Jawohl!
You are sensitive to think that saying something is "OK" & upvoting the deal was criticism!!

You should read the negative reviews on ProductReview etc (eg glass found in packet, disappointed in taste, horrible, etc) if you want to see real criticism!

What justification do you demand for a personal opinion that "Marion's Kitchen Cooking Kits are OK"?? It's OK, I'd eat it.

Obviously, kits are never as good as fresh ingredients which make meals "great" but take much longer & require some experience. Kits are designed for the average Australian tastes in Asian food, which I often find bland or lacking in depth of taste. And there are better kits in my opinion. Everyone's tastes & expectations vary.

Nothing earth shattering there so didn't expect neg votes & demand to elaborate on the obvious.

"OK, but not great" was a personal opinion - a response directly to the OP, who claimed very good reviews in Deal Description. I would not describe these kits as "great".

Have tried most of the range. But I only consider these when half price - so rarely. Luckily, there is so much better "great" Asian food available🍲

            • @INFIDEL: would be intersted to know your suggestions from "there is so much better "great" Asian food available". Alot of this type of stuff is very hit and miss so someone elses experience is helpful.

  • Have any of the MasterChef contestant products managed to do well at all?

I just tried the Diana Chan dumplings and they are pretty average. You can get frozen ones that taste better and cheaper from any local Asian grocery store.

Diana Chan's veggie dumpling is a disastrous; i wonder if she tastes the product before putting her face in the box

      • Her pop up stall ended up pretty disastrous too.

Somehow I don't think they used Asian people to taste test the product for authenticity…

        • +3

          Sure. Blame gweilos.

      • If taste so bad how on earth it goes to the supermarket selve… i think the person backgrounds can be critical for example hence not to be racist here if you are Chinese background and grew up eating homemade dumplings of course it taste gross but if you hardly even eat them I guess is taste yummy

Cheaper at Woolies with WISH cards

Cheaper with five finger discount down the pants. It also comes with a free bonus car ride and a free lunch behind a strange kind of fence.

        • -4

You'd be better off self checkouting and pretending to scan it with a finger over the barcode. At least you could feign that you tried to pay for it. If its down your pants, you were definitely stealing it.

These are great. I tried them half price last time and hooked me enough to still buy them at full price. Will definitely be stocking up!

used the thai green while camping, tasty & very convenient

  • The Side-show Bob kit is really nice!!!

  • We enjoy the red & green curries. Especially yum the next day (one pack does the two of us two nites with double the veg in)

  • Tried the green curry last night but I found it a bit lacking in flavour. It was very easy to whip up the meal though! I'm trying the red curry next

    • I usually make it better by adding more salt/sugar/stock/fresh herbs as needed. if you adjust it a little it's quite tasty. It's one of the better meal kits esp the green and red curries.

  • The butter chicken is amazing, but I'm not sure where to find it any more :(

    (Does anyone know?)
