Having used similar (not this brand) for a period post surgery, liners aren't visible, unless you're a bloke wearing skinny jeans or women's pants to show off your 'bulge'.
The undies really depends on the fit of your pants. I think I got away with them under a different for a couple of weeks, or at least none of my colleagues admitted to being able to tell. That said, the brand I used felt weird, which meant that I felt self conscious the whole time. Perhaps, people get used to the feel if they wear them long enough
