Recently a friend came over and asked for water but hated the taste ??? it was just boiled tap water. I don't know about everyone else in Australia but usually I just drink water that's been boiled. Wondering whether other people also hate boiled water.

That is not true for all parts of Australia
Used to have to boil it in Adelaide, but that was many years ago.
when?
.@Nugs: 80s I think?
@djkelly69: yeah nah, I don't remember that.
.@djkelly69: The 80's was the prime of the drinking straight from the hose era, none of this boiling nonsense.
Wait, people live in SA?
Correct.
South Australia actually isn't a part of Australia.
Melbourne water is pretty good, straight from the tap for me.
Is there a reason that you boiled it?i drink either boiled tap water or filtered water from work :)
This can vary from town to town.
In Brisbane I can smell the chlorine before i touch the glass… best to boil it.
In other places the tap water can be better than bottled water. In Brisbane I can smell the chlorine before i touch the glass…
Yep - for this reason we installed a water filter.
You could also leave a clear glass bottle in the sun for a couple of hours to remove most of the chlorine. You'll see little bubbles form on the inside of the glass
I drink water from filter tank.
Straight from tap, or tap into jug, jug into fridge & let chill for a few hours. Drink from jug. Not a complicated recipe to follow.
rain water, quad filtered. only boiled for hot drinks
.Straight from the toilet.
You don't look like that frog I found in the dunny one time
Toilet water, huh. You got to stop drinking the perfume.
Boiled water tastes better to me. Filtered sometimes. But I am fine with tap most of the time.
I drink the water straight through my mouth.
Did that sound good in your head?
Maybe your kettle is old and rusted? Or if its plastic got that plastic taste.
From the tap (Zip Hydrotap)
Whatever water VB uses is what I drink
That'd be sludge from the bottom of the Yarra then.
filtered water when im at work
Tap water when im at home
Tap -> Bottle -> Fridge -> Glass…
Perfect… don't need to waste money on a filter.
Straight from tank.
I prefer mine straight from the billabong
gold coast water > rest of australias water
Yeah because it is purified by the angels celebrating Schoolies there every year.
I like my water wet.
My water is called Vodka - don't tell anyone!
How Do You Drink Your Water Everyday? Boiled vs Filtered
About 65% of respondents do neither of those
Only drink filtered water. Boiled filtered water would probably be better. I read a treatise on boiled water years back but forget the details now. But I wouldn't drink tap water except as a last resort (bad enough we have to shower in it. :) )
can modify hot water service to be able to boil water (not constantly, just periodically when no one will be using it) so can shower in cleaner water, don't have to worry about swallowing any. BE CAREFUL - can be extremely hot if not timing showers correctly.
I have a filter for home, but I also drink straight tap water. My favourite is filtered water into soda stream bottle, chill in fridge, pump in gas then back in fridge ready to drink. I’ve started drinking this instead of a glass of wine when I’m cooking.
Straight from the tap for me, have tried boiled but kept burning my tongue and I prefer it cold anyway.
I used to drink boiled water but the ice kept melting
Tap water every time.
Chlorinated? Simply pour water into an open receptacle and let it sit for a time for the chlorine to evaporate. Then drink. Simple.
Boiled water sounds gross. Use a filter jug currently, can't stand the taste of tap water, or the fact it isn't cold. Going to switch to Neverfail this year, was great when I was a kid and very convenient considering I mostly only drink water.
But what do neverfail do to their water, is it filtered, is it boiled? Like all the so called spring water, most is tap water pushed though a filter
75% tap, 25% boiled
We don't need to boil water in australia
