I recommend ‘cuckoo’ rice cooker at any Korean grocer. Best rice cooker ever!

    • I want a cuckoo as well, from what i've read/heard they have a lot more functions for the price than Tiger does, I also think they look much better but I wish they had nicer 6 cup versions as the only one they have is pretty ugly.

Plus they sound pretty cute saying "annyeonhaseyo Cuckoo imnida" and it makes train noises.

      • I am a Korean and I want you know Cuchen is another brand from 🇰🇷 that is competing with Cuckoo. There are number of ricecookers available in Korean grocery and my recommendation is to shop at KT mart in Melbourne / mitcham. Jmart in Boronia, Little Korea in Oakleigh whichever you live close by if you are in Victoria.

        • I've been to Jmart and they do have a pretty good selection, the ladies there said Cuchen is also great! Thanks for the suggestion :) will have to research them too.

I only worry whether the warranty is as good as buying direct from Cuckoo if I recall correctly, the repair centre (clayton) will only repair machines purchased from them directly.

    • Please be aware that when using cuckoo rice cookers the high pressure setting is set higher than japanese rice cookers of the same quality. local japanese rice varieties need lower pressure and is recommended to use the low pressure setting on the cuckoo. But most people wont know the difference or be bothered to spend 10 bucks a kilo on rice so my comment probably is not very useful. I have a cuckoo and can vouch for their quality.

      • Where can you get 10Kg bags of rice?

Specifically looking for long grain. Most Asian groceries seem to sell short grain or jasmine.

Used to get them from Coles, but of course they don't want to use their shelf space for bulk goods anymore.
