just need some 1/2 priced sharwood's biryani sauces now …

    • Yes, the Sharwoods Biriani is fantastic. I stocked up last time they were on sale and have almost run out. Mint & Coriandar is outstanding.

Good deal on the Basmati rice this week too.

Bummer - bought the previous Basmati Rice Deal from Woolies (Rivanna Basmati)

But definately Maharajah's are much better in quality at same price

    • Nice to know that.. I missed the last deal, all were gone. :)

Lucky you, at least you don't have to eat 25KGs' of soggy rice

        Wish me luck :(

NB: My rice cooker is working fine and ofcourse I know how to cook rice

mate I bought woolies rice from the previous offer and it is of a very good quality and taste. I don't know how it is inferior to other basmati rice brands since I tried them all.

PS. I use the absorption method and I don't use a rice cooker. Rinse rice twice with warm water, strain the rice then add ONLY 1.25 boiling water for every 1 cup of rice and cook on a very weak heat for 20 minutes and you will have a very good result every time, never wet or soggy..

        • i use a cheapo cooker and it always seems to come out ok. even the thin cripsy layer at the bottom is nice.

for the sharwood's bottles you just add the raw rice and water to the cooking pot and it all comes out right in the end. it can't any get easier than that!

  • woohooooo maharajah's cheaper than jasmine rice

  • Honestly, that Lindt price should be the everyday price. I know it's a premium-ish brand and they do taste great, but that doesn't justify their ridiculous prices.

Anyhoo, thanks for the heads up! I'm gonna get me some Red Rock Deli chips (even though I got some when Woolworths had them on sale last week, too :P). They're delicious. :D
