48x Energy Bars for $48 @ Winners Sport Nutrition

80

I don't believe I've seen any Winners Bars specials on OzBargain before.

I find them a bit of an indulgence, but they are great for longer bike rides. For those who haven't tried them they are similar to Cliff Bars.

I've recently been experimenting with non 'sports bars' alternatives like Carmens muesli bars, Coles brand bars etc etc, but they tend to contain less energy so while the bars may be cheaper you end up eating (and carrying) more. Other sources of energy such as jelly beans, bananas, dried fruit will obviously do the trick, but something like the Winners bars are great as they are more moist than your typical muesli bar, and the packaging is a bit more convenient to eat while riding than loose confectionary or fruit.

48 bars is a lot though! I've usually split an order with a friend. Woolworths stock them in singles if you'd prefer to try before you buy.

Coffee Energy Gels are also on special 48 for $48

Wow, pretty similar carbs to a Mars bar. Pass.

I didn't neg you, but if someone is actively exercising, what is the problem with carbs? Some of the tour de france riders drink Coke or high energy gels.

Yep, not really for casual snacking. More for topping up energy levels when on endurance rides.

      • Endurance rides? This is OzBargain.

        • Not sure I get the point you are trying to make, but happy for you to elaborate.

But there are definitely a number of ozbargainers / stingy-frugal people that like to exercise, for sustained periods, and need food!

  • Thanks OP!

  • Anyone have reviews on taste ?
    Never tried before.

    • I tend to only eat them on long rides - and quite like the taste. But I'm probably more forgiving of the flavour as I'm generally feeling pretty empty when I eat them.

They have quite a few varieties. My favourite is this one, which isn't on special at the moment:

But they have specials fairly frequently. The newsletter lets you know of them and they don't spam you.
