Code appears to be generic, received the same email.

    • Yep got the same code as well

    • My code was the same too, I agree that it's a generic code.

      • Yep mine too

    • team, i think it might be generic.

    $300 for a remote controller…

    • +3

Maybe it's the remote control from Click that lets mess with time.

    • It changed my life

    Beat me to it!

Not as good as the $200 deal a while ago. For those interested, Amazon currently have them for $299. Perhaps Amazon will price match, and then you can use Cashrewards/Shopback for cashback.

For those going to get it from JB, be sure to see if your credit card or insurance offers you 5% off JB vouchers. Frequent Values/Entertainment book and Suncorp Rewards do.

    • Great remote - the way it works through the app is absolute brilliance and good for the whole family

So even with just the 6% Shopback credit, works out cheaper to buy through Amazon - with free delivery.
      $299 - $17.94 = $281.06

      • Good tip!

        If you have 5% JB vouchers: $287 - $14.35 = $272.65

That costs more than my TV

This controller is good for those who have lighting automation setup with your TV entertainment system.

As it comes with a hub you can also use it with google home.

  • $300 remote and people call it a bargain. Is this normal?

    • +3

Its probably the best remote you can get. If you have people in your household who barely know how to put the TV on, this helps doing practically everything media wise super easily (as long as someone can do the initial setup).

I still prefer physical buttons on my 650 so I don't have to look…
This one you need to look at the LCD screen!

    • +2

Agreed. I have this remote and regret it. It is very sensitive and if you accidentally touch the screen it turns off the whole setup or changes it to another device.

    • Buttons FTW.

Any reason why the Harmony Smart Control wouldn't suffice for most people? Understand it supports up to 8 devices, but it's a lot cheaper than the Elite that you could get multiples?

    • I have 8 & 9 devices associated with my two Elites, so it wouldn't do for me. My friend has one & I find the button layout odd on the Smart Control remote, the playback buttons on the top of the remote feels awkward. I prefer the layout of the buttons on the Elite with playback control on the bottom, feels more natural.

      • I guess it's down to number of devices and remote layout preference then. Considering the hub is the key component (which functions the same across the hub based remotes), it might be an alternative option for some to choose the Smart Control or Companion models instead.

For reference, the one I got for my parents awhile back was around $80USD, so even if you setup two hub systems in separate rooms it can work out cheaper. Horses for courses…

    • These make it easier to fix it up when a device gets out of sync as you can select to control a device individually. The other scenario is if you have more than 6 activities (or 3 if you can't stand the short press/long press on the Smart Control remote) these will list all of them on the screen.

If you have phone/tablet close by then that negates the need for the above.

I have a similar Harmony Ultimate and Smart Control. I use the Smart Control remote most of the time.

  • hmm trying to decide if I should bite the bullet and grab this or wait and hope it comes up for $200 again soonish

  • I haven't had a harmony in many years. I never found the automatic setup to be acceptable. I understand the app is much better these days for manual setup, but I avoid these products (even though my inner geek wants me to have one) because I'm sure it'll sit there unconfigured and be nothing more than a second tv remote (which we don't need)

    • I have two of the Elites now but I had a 785 years ago. The 785 wasn't as flexible as I needed and would often get out of sync. This was mostly due to the TV we had at the time, so I sold it after a few months. The Elites are far more flexible now. I've got 8 devices in one room and 9 in the other and I haven't found something yet that I couldn't do with the Elite configuration yet.

  • Logitech really nerfed integration with Alexa and Google assistant in December though. Too many complaints to recommend above 200$

    • Works great with our Google Home. Also has a mobile app.

  • These are better prices than I purchased for.
I've had one of these for near 3 years. Although I love it, I have problems every now and again where the the key presses appear to not do anything. Then after a minute or so, it blasts them all.
I think I've isolated it to a OOS time issue, but really hard to troubleshoot it.
When I think it is happening, I open the app on my phone and press a few buttons and then it works fine again.

PS4 integration is a bit hit and miss too. It sometimes doesn't power off if it is at the PS4 home screen. I find it works better if you launch the Video app on the PS4 and then press power off.
