Impressive! Romoss have always been one of the few brands that have multiple power bank inputs.

  • 3cm too thick

    • it says packaging size 3cm …..size 6.6 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches so just under 2.3cm

    • +1

It would be the usual thickness for a power bank using 18650 cells. 18mm for the cells plus a couple of mm each side for the case. If you want thiner you'd need to go for a liPo bank.

  • Are these comparable in quality to the Xiaomi units from the other day?

    • +3

No, I had a Romoss 10000 unit and after a short time battery capacity decreased rapidly compared to a similar xiaomi product I had.

      • Thanks.

  • Nintendo Switch? Does it have Power Delivery?

    • +3

The power specs in the description:

      • Micro USB Input: 5V/2A, 9V/2A
      • Type-C Input: 5V/2A, 9V/2A
      • Lightning Input: 5V/2.1A (Lightning)
      • Fit Charge⊕Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
      • Type-C Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
      • Regular USB Output: 5V/2.1A

From that, it looks unclear whether this is QC3.0 over the Type-C connector, or USB PD support. Then I noticed there is a second title in the description area:
ROMOSS SW20 Pro LED 20,000mAh Type-C PD Power Bank

So yes, it looks like it is safe to bet this has USB-PD 12V, 1.5A charging support, which should be suitable for Nintendo Switch charging. Apparently this is the max speed that the handheld unit can be charged at.

      • From my understanding, this charger is likely to charge the Switch at 12W only (12V/1A). For some reason, the Switch under-draws from the 12V profile.

It could draw the full 18W over 9V/2A, but my understanding is that PD negotiates from the top down, so it would go with the underpowered 12V instead.

        From same site:

        Nintendo Switch Underdraws From 12V
The Switch will only draw up to 12W from USB-C PD chargers that offer 12V, but not 15V. Earlier reports indicated it would draw a full 18W from 12V/1.5A. And my previous statements said the same, based on those reports. But my testing of 12V chargers (two chargers, one power bank from two different brands) shows a 12W limit.

At 12W those chargers are still faster than regular USB-C (5V/3A). But not as fast as USB-C PD 9V/2A or 15V/1.2A. As such I’ve rated them as Good+. That is between Good (USB-C, 10W) and Great (USB-C PD, up to 18W).

Romoss rep, care to comment? Perhaps you could provide testing showing the charger charging a Switch at the full 18W?

  • I check the link and 3cm is for the Package, Package Dimension. @tigerking8888

    • So when does this sale actually go live? What time and day?

  • +3

For the metric system heathens …

    Size: 6.6 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches
    Weight: 16.3 oz

    16.8 x 7.9 x 2.3 cm
    462g

    • +2

      2.286 to be exact

      • +3

That is false precision, to be exact. ;)

    • +1

mm. nearly half a kg. not so good for carrying around while on holiday

      • A review website says it's 303g which would make it about the same weight as the non-PD Xiaomi. Probably an error though as every other source has it around the 450g mark.

I'd love to have one of these, but I purely use them for travel and that extra ~150g is a real problem even with PD.

        • Arrived. 467g~

  • Ok so it starts on tuesday 15th

  • +1

The reviews are for different models.

  • 3 USB outputs enable to charge a mobile phone, a tablet or a Nintendo Switch simultaneously at maximum speed up to 3 amps

  • +1

    Starts on Tuesday 15th Jan.

    • What time on the 15th? It is not active currently @ 12:05am
      Thanks

      • Active now

  • Everything is so good except max amps is only 3A.

    • +1

That's not a bad thing as it has QC3 and USB-PD.

      Fit Charge⊕Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
      Type-C Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A

      • What I'm concerning is Not sure how the powerbank and connected devices negotiate how much amps & voltage per port when trying to charge multiple devices. Which combination 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A will be used?

If a USB-C device is trying to draw 5V/3A, nothing is left for other devices.

This Romoss supports charging up to 3 devices simultaneously but with only 3A it cannot charge multiple devices at max speed.

For example, if a usb-c phone decides to draw at 5V (usually it draws 5V/3A), 2 connected devices will be charged at max 5V/1.5A equalling to 7.5W, which is too far from top max speed of 18W?

Or if you have 2 old non-QC devices connected, which usually draws 5V/2.4A, or one QC and one non-QC device, in this case, if 3A is divided equally, each port is hardly able to reach max speed.

So charging 3 devices simultaneously is even worse.

This Romoss model https://www.amazon.com/ROMOSS-20000mAh-Portable-External-Com… supports max 7.2A with 4 USB-A outputs. Unfortunately, this one does not support QC and outputs max 5V/2.4A each port.

        • Yeah missed your point earlier. We'll have to see what the Rep says about total W for the whole power bank to know.

Especially since QC3 pulls 18W max and USB-PD does as well.

          • +1

@Clear: I was ready to buy this as it's equipped with different port types and 3ins/3outs until I saw the 3A part. What a pity!

          • @Clear: Yeah, we need rep to confirm:
-What is the total max W output?
-Confirm that the 3A maximum output is combined? (Sounds like it is, but wording is not 100% clear - to charge 3 devices at max speed would require the 3A limit to be per port!)
-Is there proof that it can charge a Switch at the claimed maximum speed (18W)? (From Switchchargers.com, the Switch under-draws from 12V)

  • Thanks rep. Seems like a great deal.

  • +1

The LED will take some precious Power off

  • +2

Not a bad product. I like that it has a % indicator instead of 4 bars. Seeing amps and volts is really neat. And it has lightning, micro and USB C, though I don't know if they can all output or some of them are just inputs.

18W C output is the only bummer, but it still beats the similarly priced Xiaomi 20000 2S. I would buy one of these if I wasn't loaded with power banks already. Is 18W the total power output, or just off the C port?

    Do you have any 27k?

    • it has lightning, micro and USB C, though I don't know if they can all output or some of them are just inputs.

If you click the link, it is in the title

18W 20000mAh Power Bank, Fast Charging with 3 Input Ports and 2 USB Output Ports

      Also detailed here

      • it has lightning, micro and USB C, though I don't know if they can all output or some of them are just inputs.

The title says Fast Charging with 3 Input Ports and 2 USB Output Ports. If that's accurate, that's disappointing. Does that mean the two type A ports are your only output ports, while the Micro, C and Lightning are input only? It would have to have more than 2 output ports it can output USB PD to charge your devices. Any time you have a type C port and you can't output off it, it's going to be disappointing to the buyer who just assumes it will support PD.

        Also detailed here

It doesn't say total, so I don't know if 18W is its best in a single port (the Type C alone can do 18W) or if they all suffer with slower charge when you plug in more than one device.

        • The type c is also output if you click on that link. Yes, it is confusing.

3 USB outputs enable to charge a mobile phone, a tablet or a Nintendo Switch simultaneously at maximum speed up to 3 amps.

          • +1

@CodeXD: So basically, 3 inputs and 3 outputs, not 2? (1 being shared)

They really shouldn't mislead people in their title.

            • @lostn: All of it is correct, you are kinda misunderstanding it.

The title says Fast Charging with 3 Input Ports and 2 USB Output Ports.

Yes, that's correct. The 2 fast charge port being the usb-c port and 1 of the usb A.

Does that mean the two type A ports

No, 2 FAST CHARGING output ports, not 2 output.

              • @Butt Scratcher: Still not fully understanding it.

The title says Fast Charging with 3 Input Ports and 2 USB Output Ports.

So all 3 input ports will fast charge the power bank? I did not realize that spec applied to Lightning connectors. Is it a Qualcomm spec or PD on the Lightning port? Or do they mean it will charge "quickly" if you put 3 input cables in at a time and they stack?

Do you lose any of the fast charging if multiple cables are being plugged in at a time? What is the maximum simultaneous power output? I could not find this info. All they say is 18W.

                • @lostn: Let me clarify it a bit further for you.

                  Input:

                  Lightning: 5V/2.1A
                  Micro USB: 5V/2A, 9V/2A
                  Type-C: 5V/2A, 9V/2A

                  Output:

                  Blue USB: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A (QC 3.0)
                  White USB: 5V/2.1A
                  Type-C: 5V/2A, 9V/2A

So basically to fast recharge the power bank itself you need an 18W charger. QC3.0 for the Micro USB and USB-PD for the Type-C port. The Lightning cable will not fast charge the power bank.

For output the Blue USB port is using QC3.0 and the Type-C port also has USB-PD output.

As for the maximum simultaneous power output? Romoss haven't properly answered the question but it seems it would only be able to fast charge one device from one port.

  • This looks good. Can charge this with either micro usb, lightning, or usb c.

  • Would anyone know if this would fast charge a Google Pixel 3 XL since it has USB-PD?

    • it should

    • Would like to know this too 👍

    • +3

      Yes it would.

      Type-C Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A

  • +1

Any model of this brand with about 10000mAh can pair with Nintendo Swithch , I don’t wanna buy another brick although there is lots of battery juice

  • Rep, do you guys sell a sleeve or case for this? Thanks

    • +1

The size is 168.5x81.2x23.8mm from Aliexpress shop, so similar to a RavPower PB058 or ZMI QB820, the sleeves/cases should be compatible

      • Cheers

    • Using a sleeve may cover the LCD.

  • How well would this charge OnePlus 6T? Not at full dash speeds I guess. Don't think anything does…

    • +1

Look for Pisen brand powerbanks as they recently became VOOC licensed manufacturer.

Or you can get the 50W Powerbank from Oppo, perfect for Pokemon GO

      • +1

Fingers crossed someone will sell them since Customs are iffy about individual power bank orders ;)

Though I have a Sdoutech Dash Charge power bank on the way that I'm curious to see how good it is.

  • I've done some research but would someone be able to give some indication of whether this would charge the macbook pro or the surface book 2 through usb-c?

    • +2

Yes but only at 18W. There are USB-PD power banks out there that will do it at 45W and 60W. Take Cygnett and ZMI for example.

  • +1

Wow, i quite like the features of the powerbank. Im glad i held out and didnt get a 2nd xiaomi 2c.

Multiple charge ports to ensure you only need 1 cable regardless of your device,1 port with qc and a regular 5v 2a for when you dont want to qc is fantastic.

18w pd charger and screen is a huge bonus.

    • I also like this one very much, but only max 3A so it will not be able to charge at max speed if charging 2 or 3 devices simultaneously. (See my comments above)

  • Are these real 20000mAh capacity?

    • +1

Do you mean will it charge a 2500mAh battery 8 times? No. A power bank capacity is rated at 3.7V while USB is rated at 5V.

      3.7 X 20,000 / 5 = 14,800 mAh

The other thing to take into account is the conversion loss. Power banks are typically up to 98% efficient so you can lose 2% from the total. It seems Romoss haven't disclosed their efficiency rating unfortunately.

      • Are you sure "Clear"? I think you will find that the battery which is 2500mAh will also be 3.7V meaning the change in voltage will effectively cancel out and you will be left with a 20000mAH battery pack, which will be able to in an ideal sense charge it 8 times. The difference between ideal and actual just comes down to efficiencies, not just the way the voltage and capacity are published.

However when you take into account the power bank efficiency, not sure where you came across 98%, 90% is a much more realistic number, some of the best DC-DC converters on the market are only 95%. Also need to take into account the phones charge controller efficiency along with cable loss, 3A going through a tiny cable will no doubt create a bit of loss. Peukart's law would also come into play slightly, more so for the "PD chargers" with higher power ratings. From all of these losses, this is where the 75% or so overall efficiency of the system comes from.

        • Are you sure "Clear"? I think you will find that the battery which is 2500mAh will also be 3.7V meaning the change in voltage will effectively cancel out and you will be left with a 20000mAH battery pack, which will be able to in an ideal sense charge it 8 times.

Yes because I was referring to a phone which kml22 would have meant by saying real capacity. A power bank at 20000mAh will not charge a phone with a 2500mAh battery 8 times. Can't be anymore Clear than that.

However when you take into account the power bank efficiency, not sure where you came across 98%

Xiaomi is where I came across that. Xiaomi/ZMI power banks have been known to have high efficiency ratings. I should have said 93% as that's what a lot of them are.

Either way I was simplfying it.

          • @Clear: Hopefully the SW20 is a bit better than the Sense 6 20000mAh which is claimed as "up to" 85% conversion rate.

Still using my Polymos 10s (QC2.0) and Sense 4 (10000mAh) from OzB deals a couple of years ago.

    • +1

Looks like this particular model's rated actual capacity is 12500mAh at 5V3A output, reference: specifications on the powerbank

      Also, total output is 3A

      • Looks like that's up to 85% efficiency like the old models.

      • SW20's rated Actual effeciency is somewhat above 85%, i.e. more than 17000 mAh, which is similar to most of the prominent brands on the market.
12500mAh at 5V3A as mentioned at the bottom of the power bank is to serve different meaning of rated capacity, which only applies in China market. It's irrelevant to overseas users.

Products that are sold on overseas market contain of information in English and are suitable for overseas requirements.

        • +1

          Hi rep,

Can you confirm its Total output is 3A combined?

If yes, is there any other similar models supporting quick charges with Higher Total output combined? Like 5A or 7.2A?

          • @Bargain Fighter: Hi,it is 3A in total. Sorry we dont have 5A 7.2A now, will report to our company R&D department, hope ROMOSS will have more power bank which could satisfy different needs from customer. But now the inventory is sold out.

  • Code not working?

  • The promotional code you entered is not valid.

  • +1

Working now - just got one.
    Thanks

  • -1

Purchased one, hoping they're lighter than stated, but a good price for what it is.

    • 467grams confirmed.

  • +1

Out of stock? Will anymore be added?

  • Only the 10000 and 5000 available now?

  • Attempted to purchase one and without any warning takes me to a lower output 10400 charger, where is the 20000 one mentioned? Does anyone know please.

    • +1

      Hi Mooshygil,

There is no changes have been made to the link at all. Like on eBay, it allows you to choose from several different sizes/model/colour.

The 20,000 one is sold out so it doesn't appear on the list and defaults to the 10,400 one. AMAZON just loading the next available option for the product under same listing, there are 20000mah(sold out), 10400mah(no PD no 3 input one), 5000mah(no PD no 3 input one, with builtin cable for iphone and android phone).

Since the SW20 is sold out, ROMOSS will have to stop the code soon. just in case people may buy the wrong one.

If u need only SW20 but bought other capacity by mistake, pls cancel the order soon. And new SW20 will be avaliable in middle of Feb.2019. On the way to FBA Amazon.

      • Thanks for your reply, look forward to next shipment

  • -3

Only 8am here and out of stock already?

    • That's still 8 hours after the deal went live (first confirmation of the code working). Also ozb was not the only place this code was posted. I also found it on a Chinese website

So you can imagine how many clicks/sales they would have had.

      • The deal should be marked as out of stock or expired then, as the link now takes you to another product which people may end up buying by mistake.

        • +2

There's no automated systems to mark deals as out of stock. It requires people like you and me to report it as expired. Negging a deal because someone didn't mark it as OOS or expired is poor excuse.

  • +1

Warning to anyone clicking the link - The product loaded is not the product described in this link. It is a substantially inferior product (less capacity, no usb C, no lightning ports etc..)

I can understand being out of stock, but changing the product this deal links to is a scummy bait & switch move by the store rep/poster.

    • +2

If you look at the revision, no changes have been made to the link at all. Like on eBay, it allows you to choose from several different sizes/model/colour. The 20,000 one is sold out so it doesn't appear on the list and defaults to the 10,400 one

      • Ok, good catch, I may have over reacted on this one - looks like it is amazon just loading the next available option for the same product.

        • It is amazon just loading the next available option for the same product. As the listing have 3 sisters from 20000mah to 10000mah and 5000mah. pls pay attention to the mAh before buying.

    • Indeed - although I'm not sure if this is deliberate or just Amazon "helpfully" linking to a related product.

      • +2

As above, it was just a multi-product listing, with the same listing for all 3 different sizes (selectable in the same way as colour variations, etc). Now that the 20,000 is sold out, it's just displaying the next one.

Nothing going on here (except the annoying use of combined listings).

DEAR ALL, THE B07H3RRZXT ROMOSS SW20 is SOLD OUT!!

Since ROMOSS, an internationally recognized brand, entered AU market through Amazon not so long ago, it was our first attempt to post deal on a successful deal-site ozbargain.
To our pleasant surprise, the 20000 mAh SW20 was sold out shortly.
Until next irressistible deal, we will deactivate the code for now.

Please note that Amazon automatically transfers every purchase to next subsequent listing, which is usually the sister ASIN, once the main product is sold out. So, we request you to cancel any order of sister ASIN (wrong product), if you don't need.

Another huge lot of SW20 shipment is on the way and shall reach Amazon warehouse before end of Feb.

As mentioned, it's our first attempt on ozbargain and probably the reason why, our main ozbargain account has been temporarily suspended by the website. We shall respond to you from our main account once it is re-opened.

Thanks Everyone for showing interest in Romoss!

    • Missed out this time. Was going to double down on it too, seemed like a good product and a useful replacement to my aging 11,200mAh unit. Looking forward to another deal that I hopefully won't miss :)

      • Hi, sincerely sorry, it was our first attempt to post deal on ozbargain, seems we didnt arrange enough inventory. We are sending more SW20 to amazon FBA warehouse, we also have other powerbanks in ROMOSS Direct store on amazon.com.au, not sure about next model which may been post in Feb., i will apply a new promotion from our company. Hope we could service more customer with differenct power bank and different capacity as well as input/output for their needs. See you in end of Feb.

  • Dear ALL,
We're sorry that ROMOSS SW20 POWER BANK inventory is sold out shortly.

AMAZON has already transferred the link to sister items which are 10000mah and 5000mah no PD ones, if you dont need the power bank which AMAZON suggested, pls dont buy, if you happened to buy a wrong item, pls click "help" on first page of AMAZON, you can cancel the order there, or get more help from AMAZON.

First of all, please be assured that all of our ROMOSS products have 12-month warranty. "Romoss AU Direct" on AMAZON.COM.AU is the authentc store of ROMOSS by the manufacturer.

Congratulations to all of you who grabbed the big 20% off with the code. If you wana share your use experience or have any query at all, please feel free to drop a mail on [email protected]. Our friendly customer service is available 24/7, for you!

    Sincerely,
    Sally
    Romoss AU Direct

  • Just received the powerbank. Noticed that the unit had marks which I wiped off with a wet wipe and came 82% charged. I know most powerbanks come partially charged but I suspect my unit has been used. Even the plastic wrapper that housed the unit was ripped. Not impressed, never encountered this with all my Xiaomi powerbanks.

    • Hi Danster,
      Thanks for purchase.

Regarding 82% charged, yes our power bank are all charged before shipment (not exactly the same at 82%), our minimum request befor shipment is to make sure the power bank have at least 70%, so that customer could use it as soon as they get the power bank.

Since this purchase is FBA (Fulfilled By Amazon), we'd also connect to the concerned Amazon team to check the status of our products in AMZ warehouse, AU. You can also contact "Help" on first page of Amazon and ask for any help about the order from Amazon.

At the same time, we will report to our factory and let them have strict packing request for workers before shipment. To make sure they clean most of the finger print and wrap well.

Please be assured that all of our ROMOSS products have 12-month warranty.
      Have a nice day!

    • Got mine today. Seemed like brand new in sealed box and no issues around potentially being used. Mine was only 10% charged. Has been on charge for 7 hours and is only 73%. Charged via lightning cable from wall plug.

The only down side is that it is VERY heavy from what I have in other power banks…. unfortunately way to heavy to card around in pockets, so would need a bag/backpack to carry it when out and about or use in hotel room as a spare if all charges are being used…
