Is this a good deal
Panasonic OLED 65 for $2250 shipped. It’s in great condition and no burn in and was wall mounted at the shop bought from.
Can’t see any burn in
Do you think this is a good deal?

I was told it was by JBHiFi and they seemed to think it would be. Interesting though as not sure in practice what it would be like
My OLED is an ex-display and it's got horrible burn in. The price I paid was so stupidly cheap that I don't actually care, and watching movies with black bars (2.35:1 ratio?) gets rid of most of it.
I'd say go for it, especially if there is no burn in.
NB, Panasonic won't warrant it, excessive on hours isn't covered under warranty for screen damage. I tried to RMA mine the day I bought it.
Thanks. From what I can see for its life it’s just had a Panasonic demo reel on it rather than tv content. I can’t seem to see any burn in but maybe I’m wrong
Test a full colour pattern (youtube?). Mine is only burnt in on certain colours (Red, Blue) and on some like yellow it's hardly noticeable, change the colour, and it's full on.
@FatBoyNotSoSlim if you don’t mind me asking, what price did you pay for it? And what was the RRP at the time ?
$2100 mid last year, when the cheapest on sale were in the high $3000s.
Was this the same model? If you don’t mind me asking what store?
This was from JB
@chrig: EZ950 from memory, the 2017 model.
@FatBoyNotSoSlim: That’s a great deal although concerning about the burn in. Out of interest what was burnt in? I honestly couldn’t see any but maybe it’s me
@chrig: The store's demo footage included the "4K Ultra HD" logo in the corners of the screen. Top Left is noticeable on all colours (except black, naturally), Bottom Left/Top Right is just noticeable, Bottom Right can just be made out.
It wouldn't surprise me if the screen was running this footage for 2 years straight.
@FatBoyNotSoSlim: Thanks that makes sense. We took it out of its box temporarily and didn’t give much of a test
Unfortunately with OLED, similarly with Plasma TV's, often the stores will put their TV's into what is often known as shop mode, which is basically ultra high brightness, and contrast, which means that when they're potentially displaying the same static, or repeating material for long periods of time, there will be a permanent retained image left on the screen.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like the technology has completely matured yet.
Just make sure that an uncontrolled toddler has not thrown water bottle at screen.
Far from it was mounted high on one of those display boards.
That toddler story was in reference to a Samsung
Whooossshh
No OLED is a good deal ex-display in my mind. Unless the warranty includes them replacing old for new at their cost (and the process is painless).
