Options for International Sites for Affordable Quality Things for The House

My family is currently building a new home.
We have been looking at furniture, appliances and other stuff for the house - but every time I walk into a store here I can feel the money being sucked out of my wallet. Whenever I look at a price tag it feels like I am a Catholic altar boy.
Maybe ten years ago we purchased a really nice AEG oven from a website in the Czech Republic or something and had it shipped here all for a bargain price. Unfortunately I can no longer find that shop.
I am certain there has got to be online stores out there that sell good quality furniture, appliances and homewares for realistic prices. Ideally they would ship internationally, but I might be able to work that aspect out if I can find good deals.
We live in an age where it has never been easier to buy things from around the globe - and the reality is most of the stuff I am looking at is being made in just a few countries. The appliances are mostly German, and the furniture is mostly SE and E Asian. Yet it is proving harder than I thought to find good stuff at sensible prices.
Can anyone give me any suggestions for their favourite international sites for buying this type of stuff to ship back here.
Thanks.

    Wouldn't shipping kill it?

Unless it was a special situation - discontinued line etc., why would they sell a quality product cheaper overseas?

with the AUD being so crap, might not be worth it anymore

Amazon.de was where I got Grohe tapware for about a quarter of the Australian price but this was 5 years ago. Weak AUD and GST have changed the equation but the price difference is still there. I don't know if appliances are worth it due to warranty issues (but if they are half the price you could just buy another if the first one breaks!). Furniture - anything organic (wood, leather, feathers, silk, wool) will cause hassle with customs and quarantine.
