JB didn't want to price match, citing that AO didn't have a physical store.

Personal opinion:
Was looking at a Dyson V8 but saw this.
Not a bad price considering you get:
* 2x batteries
* all the equivalent attachments of the Dyson Absolute plus a bedding attachment that's supposed to "punch" your bedding while vacuuming it (no idea if it's effective but hey it's included), and
* the floor stand (big plus from me, no wall drilling and can charge both batteries at the same time).

Any idea how it compares with Dyson?

    • -1

its RRP is same as V10 Absolute+, and I'd for sure rather have that one even though I haven't used it before.

  • I chose the cordzero for the two batteries and we’ve never actually ever done enough vacuuming to warrant the two batteries. Suction is good, the floorstand is handy and I guess if I ever really want to do a lot of vacuuming at least I’ve got the second battery waiting for me.

    • Same - have only got to the second battery once. Shame the free tools promo has finished, though I'm still waiting for my (validated) claim from November!

      • I was amazed when looking at Dyson cordless recently, all they talked about was battery times even at the expense of suction power. I said I don't plan to ever to an entire house in 1 go so it doesn't really matter to me, I just want the thing to be powerful when I do use it. I'd mostly be doing the loungeroom and kitchen here, bedrooms and office would typically be done separately.

But I'm curious how the top end Lg's compare to Dyson's V10?

EDIT: Oh wait the A9 is between the Dyson V8 and V10, so the V10 would in theory still be the champ?

        • What sort of running time is expected with various the various Dyson models you've been researching? Heard a V6 only gets approx 20-25 minutes per charge.

  • Was instore today. The weight of the lg is very noticeable for its weight. If you are old or have an injury with wrist I will personally stay away from it. The aluminium "shaft" packs alot of undue weight for a handheld…I would prefer Dyson V8 and V10 over this any day ..

    • This is true.
We tried both in store today and you can definitely tell the LG is a bit weightier, not enough to deter us though but could be an issue for some.

P/s: FWIW, the LG's shaft are telescopic while the Dyson's I believe is not.

I got the LG master. they both weigh the same on paper. The Dyson has the weight distributed better. cos the battery is at the top(ish). while the LG is a the bottom which makes it FEEL heavier. I also do feel the weight on my wrist if I vacuum for a while. But all in all I think the LG was good for the PRICE. And 2 batteries are better than 1. The Dyson battery is suppose to go for 5 or 10 years. which is impressive. I doubt the LG batter will last as long (hold its charge).

      My 2 cents.

Also that bedding tool is NOT worth it.. Will never use it. The only reason I got the Master was for the additional tools (promo for my car vacuuming).

      • Also if you have carpel tunnel don't even bother with this..

  • 679 @Domayne so HN will match it.
Also Amex cash back can be used if you order from Domayne. With additional spending of $71
    https://www.domayne.com.au/lg-cordzero-a9-2x-multi-head-hand…

    • That’s a different product, A9 Multi vs A9 Master.
Domayne has the A9 Master (this deal post) for $779.

AFAIK the Multi lacks one $49 bedding attachment that is included in the Master.

  • I got this just before end of 2018 for the free tools promotion.

Same price, but Bing Lee ebay, which made it eligible for 10% off promo and GCs purchased at 10% off.

Its battery life is poor, unless you're using the lowest setting which I don't find good enough.

    • I run medium setting and get 30 minutes easy with this, I find the battery way better then then my parents v10

      • Well that's interesting because you got more battery life than even LG claims you will.

Do you use a turbo brush?

They claim 40 mins on lowest setting with no turbo brush (which I don't expect to be a realistic scenario). The turbo brush reduces the battery life. If you use on highest setting, you get as little as 6 minutes. And it takes 3.5 hours charge to get you another 6 mins.

I used medium setting with turbo brush and lost a bar (there are 3 bars) after about 2 minutes.

I was tossing up between this and the Samsung PowerStick Pro which was 45% off for EPP members (something like $439 for the higher tier model). Eventually settled on this one because of the extra battery and free tool kit promo. But I'm kind of looking over the fence to see the greenness of their grass right now.

        Run Time

        Normal Mode:
Without Power Drive Nozzle: Up to 40 minutes per battery
With Power Drive Nozzle: Up to 30 minutes per battery

Power Mode: Up to 9 minutes per battery

Turbo Mode: Up to 6 minutes per battery

So you got 30 minutes from a battery that LG claimed you would only get 9 minutes out of (with no power drive nozzle, which I assume you are using). And manufacturers always overstate their battery life, not understate it. I wish I was that lucky. What I got was more or less in line with what they claimed.

        • Timed it last night on medium using on carpet 23 minutes it ran for, now I'm also curious as to wtf is going on, I had no idea it should only go 9min

          • @Bretto87: which attachment did you use?

I get a feeling the medium setting is the default intended setting, similar to a Dyson's standard setting.

The lowest setting was only added so that they could claim 40 mins battery life, not that they intended anyone to use it except for really light cleaning, like over a rug.

  • gave my dyson away to mum after purchasing Meile C3.

    • I gave my Dyson barrel vac away too. And then the recipient gave it away also.

Cleaning the cyclone became such a chore. A bagged vac doesn't require cleaning. Or frequent emptying. It's something you take for granted.

  • $723 when I go to the page?
