I find this extremely hard to believe. I'd say 5 … 10% max. Never cost price.
I think its either 15-20% off or cost price.

The Wesfarmers staff discount is generally 5% unless there is a temporary promotion where it can be as high as 10%.
When I worked at Officeworks, it was 20% off. There was a cost price that couldn't be discounted past.
The wider Wesfarmers discount was 5% at other sister stores.

Can staff use Gift Cards?
I notice the suncorp cards are 5% off.So if a staff was to get 20% off (assuming there was enough margin), could they then use Gift Cards they'd purchased at 5% off?
I'm assuming so, because the Suncorp Officeworks cards are Physically posted.
In regards to trying to get a staff member to help you buy a projector ( I assume you mean get them to use their discount ). They wont help someone they dont know as if they get caught they will get their card stopped.
They get one for officeworks which was 20% or cost (WHICHEVER IS HIGHER $). Quite often with electronics (and in particular laptops) the margin was very low (0-5%) so there would be hardly any discount on them anyway. This is partially due to their price match promise.
They also get provided a coles myer discount card which would give you 5% off everything (there may have been some exclusions) but if there was no margin on anything (so you didnt get a discount with the officeworks card) you could still use this for 5% off
You can order it online when eBay UK/US have %10+ off sitewide provided the projector is on their eBay store.
It is up to 20% off on high margin items. With the low margin products is usually 5-10%, our in store app tells us what the staff prices are. If an item is selling with low margin due to a competitor price match then we usually lose the discount on that item until the prices goes back up.
We can use it with any payment method as well and at other Wesfarmers stores (Coles/Kmart/Target) we get 5% off.Last back to school we got 40% off school lists.
