Deal begins on Wednesday. This is a new line item. Normal price is $8.

Calling Bertie Beetle fans - not as good value as the famous $1 showbags, but this week’s Woolworths catalogue has $4 for a 6 pack of the new mini Bertie Beetle ice creams as an Intro price. They must be quite tiny (60ml per icecream / $1.11 per 100ml).

Are these actually real? Wouldnt they have to be made from the left over violet crumble ice creams?

You had me at "Bertie Beetle"

Love Bertie Beetle show bags (but there were none at the last Gold Coast show).

$8 normal price is setting up for a fail I think.

  • I am going to have to buy some of these.

Hopefully, they sell Bertie Beetle's as well.

Are we posting every 50% off Woolworths food item now?

    • +1

      Isn't 50% off a bargain?

      • +1

Many items are on regular 50% off rotation.

        • this is the first time this has being posted

          • +1

@cozmo: And I support this post.

        • That means the bargain ends when they go back up in price.

      • 50% off, statistically speaking, may or may not be a bargain. It depends on what is 50% off and what the original price is.

For an ozbargainer, these bertie beetle ice-creams might be OK for $4, because they probably ain't worth $8.

      • That depends on price. I will try these but they look overpriced, even at 50% off

    • Every 50% off food item does not get posted. But some are worth sharing.

  • Does the packet mention ice cream? I bought a packet of M&M Mini Sticks that looked just like these. Recommended storage below 18 degrees, (like in a cupboard) and made no claim to be ice cream.

    • I'd bet that, like these Bertie Bettle ones do, that it actually said to store below -18.

    • Read the box again, it's -18 degrees.

You think they're selling SIX Bertie Beetles for $8?

    • +1

You get these from the freezer in the store SO that should be a big enough hint that they need storing in the freezer at home…

  • Minus 18? Good point

    • I'm in debt to my dealer by more than 18.

  • Why don’t I know what these are? I grew up in the 90s

    • Bertie Beetle was the struggle street Corby family of the showbag world.

  • Country of origin?

    • Bertie Beetle originated in Australia and is manufactured by Nestlé.

      • Ah damn it. Produced in Australia by an evil organisation.

    • -> Product of Australia

  • I saw these for the first time today and did a double take, (Woolworths Newcastle west)

I had one tonight and it taste nothing like the chocolates.

    • +1

Yep… nothing like a Bertie Beetle, more like a cheap Bulla Crunch… not that it's a bad thing. It's a nice snack, but really tiny and not really worth the money!

    • Thanks for the heads up!

  • Is there violet crumble in these, considering Nestle no longer manufacture them?

  • $8 when not on sale seems like a big ask for minis. This price seems better in general but not enough for me to buy them.

  • +2

Bertie Beetle showbag used to be the threat if we misbehaved at the Royal Melbourne Show.

These are an absolute let down, nothing like the chocolate :(

    • Thanks for taking one for the team, I’ll pass
