Be aware that many UHD blurays are just 2k up- scaled. John Wick and The Martian are two examples. Yes, you'll get HDR, but no increase in resolution over a Bluray.
Appolo 13 is an example of a native 4k title.
I'm not sure if the two negs are because I'm stating the bleeding obvious or if two people invested upscaled discs!
There are no 2k disks, so upscaled 2k to 4k is still better than 1080p anyway. You will see an improvement regardless and HDR as well.
I personally can't tell the difference between 2048x1080 and 1920x1080 in terms of sharpness, but yes HDR (in most cases) is very noticeable.
@ash2000: I agree the resolution might appear to be a minisucle difference on paper, but upscaling from the master source is an improvement on consumer upscaling that would normally be done in homes.
