"Never-before" Redemption Deals @ Krisflyer

First the bad news. As of 24 January it’s going to cost more miles to book award seats on Singapore Airlines using Singapore KrisFlyer miles. You're looking at an average 10% increase in Krisflyer miles for suite class redemptions, but Business and Economy redemptions from AUS appear to be unchanged.

To soften the blow, Singapore Airlines will be offering never-before redemption deals to destinations in its network. Details will be made available on singaporeair.com/kfescapes on 15 February 2019.

Given the recent changes to [AMEX Earn & Redemption Rates] (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/416422) you may want to consider transferring your AMEX points over to Krisflyer speculatively for this promotion.

  Wait so Singapore Airlines is increasing point rates for upgrades end January (24th), and may give us some good deals mid February (15th) to "compensate"?

  Also looking through the current and new points tables on their website, for Business Advantage it's only really zone 12/13 (USA) that increase. Suites/First Advantage is up mostly across the board however.

  Would be nice if they gave you an easier comparison but (I could tabulate it myself, but not worth the effort for me).

    Thanks for that. I thought the increase included Business class redemtions from AUS also.

  This is a bummer - Advantage awards are way overpriced anyway, Saver awards are going up by 3% to 8% - also waitlists closing 14 days in advance is not good news for late minute / flexible travels :(

  There are some improvements as well so I'm not too annoyed
