Went to the eShop to pick up a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and saw that Splatoon 2 was also on sale. But there's no mention of it anywhere.
[Switch] Splatoon 2 $53.30 (Usually $79.95) @ Nintendo eShop

Great. Thanks!
what's in the expansion?
OH! Thanks!!
Nice. Arms is $53.30 too
https://nintypricer.com/au/games/arms-switchDoes this support local multiplayer?
No, unless you mean local wireless with multiple consoles and games.
The first game actually did have a local multiplayer mode but wasn't great.
So it's either online multiplayer (with subscription), or single player mode? Whats single player mode like?
Heard it's not bad. The expansion (which is purely single player) is said to be awesome though
One silly question, so to be able to play online multiplayer it requires to pay for a switch subscription just like the PlayStation Plus?
Unfortunately yes, you do need to pay to play online like PlayStation/Xbox now.
Does this game still have a good multiplayer base now that smash and NSO has come?
Still good, mainly Japanese players though so if there's a Japan only splatfest on you might be bit of a wait.
Unlike Mario Tennis Aces which takes forever to find a game now.
Ah cool, thanks! Thinking of getting it, although I found online games laggy with smash even though we have NBN. So I'm a bit hesitant from buying this.
You will need a LAN adapter to get good connection for smash.
@ce5himm: That's pretty sad, hopefully a patch will fix the need for it since the Switch is meant to be a portable console.
@Mr Brown: It is indeed. But I mainly play single player or with local friends. Lots of fun already.
This would be good if you didn't need the nintendo online membership. Used to be able to be played without it. Now you must have the online to play this. Without it, the game is useless. Absolute crap policy by Nintendo. For local multi, you need multiple Switches!
Yeh it sucks but at least its cheap. If you can manage to get a group of 8 you can get it down to about $6 a year with the family membership.
Octo expansion is also on sale for $24 (RRP $30).
