    Don’t go. It’s never a good idea to travel to China during CNY… People are everywhere. Travel and accommodations are expensive.

      Looking like about $1300 for flight and hostel accommodation for 4th-9th Feb. I don't see that as being too bad for the experience.

    School holidays are between Apr 12-27. Airfares are cheaper outside these dates.

  Thank you very much for this, I have Hong Kong on my bucket list and I only travel Qantas. I was able to book this for my wife and I for $898, but there was an Amex surcharge but that’s ok I can l live with that. Thanks again!

      yes, most of them are converted apartment into multiple rooms. i.e 1 apartment is split into 3-4 small room with small bathroom and toilet ensuite. Chungking mansion was the famous one.

  Just to let you know most of the flights departing from Melbourne are via Sydney for this price which adds up an additional 3 hours flight time one way.
