Hi all,
I get the email alerts from them and generally ignore them but now that i'm in the market for whitegoods I thought I would take a good look. I found their prices (ie. sold prices at auction) are fairly good to okay, not spectacular except in some circumstances.
Then I looked further and saw that people were buying RECONDITIONED ones at these prices.
Site description of reconditioned:
Products listed as 'Reconditioned' have typically been used by a consumer for a limited period but then have been tested and repaired where necessary (unless otherwise specified) so that they function according to the manufacturer's specifications, however, please note that some individual items may show signs of wear, such as scratches and marks common with used items. In some instances accessories may vary from the standard (for example, software or manuals may be missing or different, no original packaging).
It is important that you read the Lot Description for possible additional information on the Condition of the product including any applicable warranty details. You should take the Condition and the Lot Description into account when you place your bid as we do not offer refunds if you change your mind about your purchase.
If the price is not much better than what you could possibly get in store, why are people paying such high costs on these, which only come with a 3 month warranty
Shill bidding. And the fact that because they are bought at "auction" they must be a bargain.
