This guy thinks that the most vulnerable people in society should be ripped off by private corporations while he gets ripped off a little bit less after wasting hours of his life on "customer service".

As for shopping around, the dopey QLD government made another stupid rule up here that if you leave Ergon for another retailer than you cannot go back to Ergon later so shopping around for prices isn't really worth it. Not sure if that rule has changed or not.
The article is the usual propaganda where the "journalist" just paraphrases what the government says in a press release so mugs can read it.
Speaking of energy retailers, if you're in Victoria and you haven't used the Victorian Energy Compare website recently, this offer is still valid to get $50 when you fill in the form. You don't even need to switch providers to be eligible.
Im currently on 25% of usage with origin energy. just wondering would i still be eligible for the (extra) discount-
