Need Suggestions on NBN and TV

Hi

Currently have Optus Big Bundle (old plan) for $95 a month with unlimited Cable Broadband and Home Phone

Optus Entertainment – Foxtel paying $72 a month including sports package

Optus has said they wont be renewing Optus with Foxtel due to NBN and their deal with Foxtel and now NBN is available in my area Postcode 2747.

Looking for suggestions as I would like to keep one optus account to keep access to Optus Sport and my mobile is contracted to telsra.

Telstra has $99 plan for TV, Phone and Internet which looks the best so far but it is a 24 month contract

  • The only difference between Telstra's $99 and $89 plan is the inclusion of the Telstra TV box and Foxtel NOW, the Telstra TV box is just a Roku media player. You don't need that unless your TV isn't smart - just FYI. I would just go the $89 casual plan which you can also get the $240 casual fee waived.

    • If I don't have the Telstra tv I assume I can't get sport then?

      • You'll get the sports channels through the Foxtel box. You'll need to add that on via Telstra which is separate.

I would check how much Foxtel is vis Telstra and Foxtel themselves directly. Telstra has sneaky charges after 12 months where it will say pay $29 per month for first 12 months and then it reverts to $49 or whatever thereafter.

It might pay to go directly via Foxtel for that service.

        • Thanks! That's a great tip

          You were right
"After the first 12 months, you’ll roll over onto a $58/mth month to month subscription.
          "

in saying that, not a bad deal for 12 months.

          • @dmb0312: @dmb0312: Yep exactly. If you do sign up you just have to make sure you review it before the 12 months is up.

            I'm in the same boat.

  • you have NBN, download your TV shows, just keep the basic & sport ;)
