David Jones Price Match Cannot Use Gift Cards

Anyone got any suggestions.

Checked their price match policy as per their link.
Called up got my $2000 item down to $1800
Got told and sent some long winded email saying they don't accept Gift Cards for price match.

Seems very hypocritical, but does anyone know a way around it?

      You can't use gift cards over the phone. There should not be a problem using them instore

        Do they price match in store on the spot?
        Or do you have to go throguh emails?

          @Samsungnote10: You go to the department and price match there and yes, as long as you have proof, they'll price match. Even as staff, I would get them to price match if it was cheaper than staff discount
