  • How many left atm?

    • There were about 10 at 3.30pm. I was there on Thursday and I didn’t see it then (only the big one for $550). This was in the aisle.

Hopefully it’s at other Costco stores.

  • Do you guys use this to make croissant or pizza dough?

    • Darn..I bought it from Appliances Online a couple weeks ago. We made pizza dough with it the other day. Turned out awesome. No kneading required!

I actually buy the pizza base from Aldi, so just putting some toppings do the deals. I think everyone loves a nice croissant, homemade is the best.

Bakers percentages as here to see.

100% either plain flour, bakers flour (7 vs 11-12%)
1% salt (Don't mix in just yet)
          2% yeast
          60% water.

          1) Mix yeast, with water until dissolved.
          2) Slowly add flour (well mixing)
          3) Mix content's, until gluten develops (do the window pane test), speed 2-3 on the mixer for smaller batches use the scrape hook. 10 min
          4) Place dough into a container (or leave in the mixer bole)
          5) Put 500 ml of water into the micro-wave and nuke until boiling. Push water to the side.
          6) Add the salt to the top of the dough, (don't mix)
          7) Place container (with dough) into the mico-wave, and shut the door. Leave for 45 minutes to rise.
          8) Take dough out, add some flour to the counter top. Use a rolling pin to roll it out to the desired size.
          9) Turn the oven on and put it the highest temperature!
          10) Place pizza base onto a pizza non stick tray, place it back into the micro-wave to raise again.
          11) After 30 minutes, the oven should be heated and the pizza base should be ready.
          12) pat it down to the desired shape, add your topping's.
          13) Shove it back into the oven cook for 10-20 minutes.

  • Can't make icecream with this one? :(

    • +1

No, because the ice cream bowl attachment is too big. You'll have to buy the normal sized mixer if you wanted to make ice cream

  • Does anyone know if this is also in NSW?

    • +11

I believe Casula is still in NSW.

      • You mean there's more than just Sydney??

  • Ive heard a complaint that the full size is too heavy to be putting back in cupboard all the time.
So they tend to occupy valuable kitchen bench space.
    Is this a decent size?

    • This size is fine for the majority of recipes, full size cake, biscuit dough etc. Genuine bargain at this price.

    • When I designed my kitchen I made the benches extra deep so I could move appliances forward as I needed them. Full size kitchenaid is quite heavy and would be a pain to put away.

Costco in Docklands, VIC still have tons of them in stock today. just got back from there.

    • Noob question here… at the same price?

      • i believe so as it was displayed at 190+

    • None left at docklands

Saw them available at Marsden Park NSW today.

  • All costco stores across nation, not only nsw

  • I just got my mum a kmix for her bday. Similar price (was 229 on Kenwood store at the time). Didn't think a 250w mini kitchen aid could stack up to a full size 1000w Kenwood in all honesty. Surprised me peoplr suggest making bread dough on this.

    • Interested to hear people's thoughts comparing the two?

  • Heaps in Marsden Park. Have to go in the electrical aisle to find them.

  • None left at moorabin
