Giveaway (DRM-FREE) PC Game: Soma @ GOG

3070

Just saw this on the front page of the store and couldn't find it anywhere else, amazing game for the price.
8.1/10 IGN

Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.

You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.

  • From the creators of the cult classic Amnesia the Dark Descent.
  • Spine-chilling horror that raises questions about identity, consciousness and existence itself.
  • Mixes stealth, exploration and puzzles into a coherent narrative experience.

On Windows, Mac and Linux. Plus comes with Wallpapers and Artwork.
Happy OzBargain-ing :)

EDIT: Some people seem to be unable to claim the game through the link in post, if unable just go to the store front page and claim through the link there.
-Thanks to g12345567 for pointing that out.

    • I still had same problem via the the homepage link. It was to do with Firefox. I switched to another internet browser and it worked fine with Chrome.

Nice another game in the library which I probably don't have the time to play :(

I know the feeling, might never get around to playing it but hey free is free.

Every sci fi fan needs to play this, one of the best and most effectively told sci-fi stories in video games.

Awesome, always wanted to play, but don't like scary games cos I'm a wimp.

    But if it's free…wimpiness begone

I'm a massive horror movie fan so it's hard to scare me. This game, however…. yeah let's just say I won't be finishing it any time soon. Creeped me out so badly, but then again so did Amnesia.

Fellow wimp here - I played it with the “Wuss Mode” mod which makes all the enemies completely harmless (I think there’s an official Safe Mode option built in now).

I didn’t feel like I missed anything, the story was just as good - if not better because you actually have the freedom to walk around and explore everything. It was still pretty terrifying, but more because of the atmosphere rather than the monsters. Highly recommend.

I played it once with the enemies on, but your comment makes me think about playing it again in safe mode. The point of the game isn’t the scare, it’s the overall idea behind the gameplay, which is scary and far thinking.

Also checkout Gog connect if you have a decent Steam library: there was a fresh lot of games added a day ago or so: https://www.gog.com/connect

    • Thanks for that comment I checked it when the previous set of games were ending in only a few hours - I wasn't expecting more to be added and would not have checked again..

Says game worth A$ 41.19 & 11.7 GB download size. Thanks OP.

  • Reviews are fantastic. Thanks op.

This was one of my favourite games of 2015, highly recommend it.

  • Beat me to it!

To add to the above post you should definitely get SOMA it is a mind-bending and fantastic gem of a game.

  • I received an e-mail from GOG about this freebie roughly five hours after it was posted here and a few hours after I'd already claimed it.

  • Only 3 hours left - thanks for this. I probably won't play it - since I'm an utter sook when it comes to scary stuff, but my brother may.
