    Haha there is like a 70% markup on beds.

    I can get a $7000 Sealy and base for $1600. That's how much markup is in these!

    They all work for Harvey Norman so workers get cost price. I worked there too so they still help me out. It's not an advertised price or anything but bases are around $250 and the mattress is around $1400 then $50 delivery.

    I didn’t want to pay for the compulsory delivery fee of $75 so I called the store and apparently the uno slumber mattress is a pricing error online. Myer wouldn’t let me have it for the online price of $479 - they wanted $650 😩. I’ve ordered online, with the delivery fee, let’s see if they honour it.

      Oh wow how interesting the uno slumber was a pricing error. I ordered one on 01/01/19. I noticed the last few days, the bed is no longer available on their site. It is a pain to pay $75 delivery but most furniture /bed stores charge about the same for delivery. Anyway I got a text from a third party delivery company that they are delivering tomorrow so looks like myer will honour that price and deliver for you as well. It seemed like a good price because snooze had pretty much the same mattress (same description in the blurb as myer) but they call it sealy elite pillow top or something like that and they are charging $599 on sale for KS. So I figured $479 was a good deal

                        @omego84: The name is very similar but the cheaper model doesn’t have the pillow top - I think the word “slumber” is added. I knew straight away just by looking at it that it wasn’t the right one. Funnily enough, the image on the order didn’t match the name of the product - it was the cheaper one. The bed I received was matched the image but not the name of the bed - what a mess! When I checked online again, they weren’t offering the upgraded one - which we both bought - in a king single. Still waiting…

                            @omego84: Yes… that’s exactly what happened to me! They don’t have stock as such, they order from the factory and make it for you. Hopefully we will get the correct one. The lady I spoke to was very obliging but I’m certainly not counting my chickens.

    The one they sent isn’t a “bargain” for $479 plus $75 delivery. They had ones at David Jones I would have bought instead of this one.

      Oh I see. So it wasn't much of a good deal then for the mattress they are trying to sell at $479. Hopefully they honour both our orders. But mine I didn't notice till now so not sure what they'll say. Fingers crossed

          I just received the new one yesterday. And they took the old one back at the same time. It might be my location. I had to place a new order for the slumber and that got dispatched. Then they gave the refund for the first mattress once they received it back in their warehouse yesterday. Is that the same way you had to go about it? The lady on the phone had said she had about 10 cases of these returns so far.

            called to follow up and apparently the last person just reordered the one we had already received. They refunded my money and the raised a new invoice for the upgrade - at the $479 price. They said it takes 5 business days to make, so it should be ready by Thursday or Friday. They’ll collect the other mattress when they drop off the new one.
            They made out they were doing me a huge favour agreeing to charge me the $479 - lol. Hopefully it’s worth the wait!

              @LXE3: Well thanks to you for alerting me to the error. They said it was their mistake so they were willing to take it back used /without packaging. To be honest I can't tell how this bed is that much better than the other one. Perhaps a bit softer with the pillow top but the last one was good too I thought. Hope you get yours very soon. It took about a week for me I think

                      @LXE3: Glad you're liking it! My daughter is enjoying her new bed! Thanks for that. How strange you had to keep following up. Maybe because you sent yours back same time as it was delivered so it got delayed in processing. I got my refund the same day the new bed was delivered as that's the day the old one was collected and taken back. I saw a sealy singles mattress at Costco for $199. Looked very similar to that first uno posture one we got sent. Can't believe they charge $479 for that!
