What Size MicroSD Card Do You Have in Your Switch?

And have you filled it up?
Do you use multiple Micro SD cards and switch between them?

Basically I've somehow managed to fill up my 256gb card in my Switch despite going physical for almost every game that has a physical variant. A lot of that space has been taken up unfortunately by NBA 2K18/19, LA Noire, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Warframe, etc. Games where you don't have much choice in terms of storage.

So my question is:
Should I upgrade to a 400gb card? Wait for a 512gb card? And where should I be looking for the best prices? I know the prices of these cards are going to keep dropping over time (bought my 256gb card when it was at its "cheapest price ever" of $130 and now it's around $90ish).

Thanks :)

  • wow this post makes me hope i don't fill up my (only recently acquired) 200gb card that fast. $140 for a 400gb card from amazon seems decent, doubt there will be any deals in the near future though

    • To be fair I think I have around 100 games total on my system and a few had abnormally large downloads as mentioned in the post. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get the 400gb card. I never though this would happen either haha

  • I have a 64gb and pretty much all my games are digital. I have a 128gb ready to go in but I'm too lazy

  • 128gb. Just for the odd game and mostly updates. I like physical games because i can sell or trade them if they are garbage. No such luck with digital. I dont need as much storage as i would on my xBox.

  • This just popped up. ~$110 for 400GB, hope seller is reputable.

  • 128GB for me, I delete all games I don't actively play, I think it keeps your save file though, but with that and the Switch drive it seems to do alright. But I don't have many beefy games as well like yours, so that helps me.

    • yeah the "archive" feature deletes everything but save/config files

  • I would avoid memory cards with even numbers 200gb/400gb and go for the odd ones 128/256gb, they are cheaper per GB for good reason.

Yes Switch memory is not precious like photos or documents, but still not worth the hassle of deleted save games.,

    • What is the good reason just out of curiosity?

  • 16GB. I have mostly physical except Crash and Wonderboy. I wanted to buy Resident Evil, then I looked at the size and it was ~25gb. I need a bigger card.

  • 512gb Samsung Micro SD, bought for $251.10 on eBay.

    • How full is it?

      • I'm only using about 25gb with 4 games installed. Looking at how many games I'm likely to purchase during the life of the console (I estimate 20 - 25) If I was going to choose again, I would probably go with the 400gb SanDisk card for $138.76 on Amazon (and use the current Cashrewards offer to get an extra 5% cashback).

        • +1

Damn. I've comeletely filled my internal memory plus my 256gb card now. 400gb on its way. I'm about 100 games deep at this stage though. About 30 are physical I think

          • @Ninternet: I buy titles like Wolfenstein and Skyrim on the Xbox One X to play on the TV in 4k which means I'm not buying them a second time on the Switch (which saves space). It really depends if it's your main console or not and how many games you are likely to purchase.

  • I dont have a memory card. I have about 10 installed physical games, with all updates and I still have over 10gb free.

  • I have a 128gb card.
