Toner from eBay

From reading Ozbargain posts a popular suggestion is to buy your toner from e-bay for the lowest price. However, my biggest concern is how dodgy are these e-bay companies. Can anyone please suggest an e-bay toner seller that they regularly use and can recommend to me? Specifically, I am after Brother toner TN2150

    Look at their feedback..
It's pretty easy. if they have thousands of positives, they're pretty reliable.
expect there to be a few negatives in there.. from ultra-hard to please people!

      +1 to that

but, ALWAYS check on their feedback, regardless, because they may have been selling bracelets and things of low value in order to raise their feedback, and then sell items of high value when their feedback is up

      TL;DR
      Check Feedback

  • Hey,

If your after cheap ink/toners from all brands that is high quality and low cost then go to http://www.inkhub.com.au/brother-compatible-toner-cartridges… they are selling yours for $62.90

Ive used these guys for over 3 years now and they always delivery express the next day, they ship out from melb.

No issue ever, long lasting and very cheap price…i buy brother compatible inks for $7.50 a colour which is cheap compared to others I've seen and even the originals Brother inks haha

I hope it helps, its better then using ebay!

    • ….i bought a new brother printer with toner for $64 and really dont want to pay $62.90 for a toner itself

  • How much do you regularly buy them for Steve?

  • Thank you all for responding. Appreciate your comments.

Issh, I used to pay top-dollar $130 for the genuine toner cartridges in my pre-Ozbargain days because I didn't know any better. Then I moved on to some of the dedicated toner websites that pop-up from shopbot searches and reduced to paying around $75. Now that I have been educating myself through Ozbargains for the last 6 months I am trying to get the cost down even lower (hence today's post).

I ended up ordering one off E-bay earlier today for $26 from Aussie Toner. I read the feedback and there were 268 positive comments and one negative comment in the last month. Of course I read the one negative comment and nearly didn't buy…but thought I would live life on the edge for once ;)

Haha you sound like my Dad when he got a memory foam pillow off eBay!
Anyway, pay with PayPal so if something goes wrong you can get your money back.

  • This isn't really relevant to you since your cartridge model is still current, but if there are people like me who have a printer which is old but still running fine and the cartridge is obsolete, then eBay might be the solution.

I didn't want to spend $$$ for a genuine Lexmark cartridge which is more than a new printer would cost. And it's a pity to create e-waste of a good printer. Even a refill cartridge would be getting near a new printer price.

So I figured that there might be some people with leftover stocks on eBay. I found one, bid for it, and I got a genuine Lexmark cartridge which will see me through another 6000 pages.

    • I buy the genuine ones off eBay… just have to be patient. Generally they come from office stationery cupboards where the printer has dies but they had spare cartridges for it. I get genuine Brother drums the same way.

      • yeah, I used to work for a company that had HP printers that they were replacing. they were replaced but the extra 3 unopened cartridges sat in the stationery cupboard for another couple of months before the stationery guy said "no use to us, lets tosh them". So I asked for them and listed them on ebay and sold them for $100 for the 3. win-win for me and the buyer.

I would go for high price. I think price = quality
