  There’s no indication a second generation may launch or is even in the works at all. That is purely speculative, and most Apple speculation turns out to be wrong. Until something actually leaks, steer clear of the rumour mill.

    Airpods 2 almost certainly on the way. Timing is right, Apple themselves teased a version with wireless charging case, and some credible analysts like Ming-chi Kuo have it (and an over-ear ANC set) now pegged for Q1 2019, pushed back from this quarter due to the delayed AirPower mat.

  It’s Apple, they’re the LV/Hermes/Chanel of tech. They quite deliberately rarely discount anything. AirPods are selling quite well, so there’s no reason to discount them. HomePod isn’t selling well (relatively to AirPods) and Apple haven’t discounted the HomePod, so I wouldn’t expect a price drop on version 1 until version 2 comes out (and even then maybe no official price drop from Apple themselves).

  I agree that there is an almost certainty that there was a version two in the works or at least the case which, as mentioned, has been announced by Apple officially. But don’t hold your breath as that “tease” was done as part of AirPower and it appears as though AirPower is having serious issues and may not release any time soon.

  Agree with other uses, re your last question. Just click on the AirPods link and look for yourself. Don’t be so lazy 😂
