Discounts on Lego Online exclusives?

I'm after the Lego Hogwarts set but being a Lego Online exclusive, it seems its a slim chance to get any sort of discount. I've been holding off from paying RRP since its not the Ozbargain way, so does anyone know if the Lego store ever goes on sale?

  • No - usually only way is to get it discount is through a reseller on eBay, however after postage (and use of any discount code like 10% off), it becomes much of a muchness as postage is free from Lego (will arrive in 4 days), as we recently ordered this set.

If buying this particular set I would suggest Lego.com (per your link). Ensure you have created an account to get the Lego store credits (you should get back est. $22.50 of credit to use in the future). If the box arrives slightly damaged you can request to switch it out or they can offer up to $50 credit in the store.

  • Nice set, but the breakfast great hall is a bit squeezy.

  • Some sets do get discounted on the LEGO online store sometimes, but I don't think they're often significant (and maybe not often or for 'exclusives'. I mean, they even have a sale link in their menu: https://shop.lego.com/en-AU/category/sales-and-deals

  • Sometimes S@H sets will be discounted, but usually modest 10-20% + VIP points, or a double/triple points promotion. Best case scenario, it gets a retail release via Myer or something, but some sets are S@H exclusives or retailer releases which never discount, e.g. 10258 London Bus.

    • So I should basically bite the bullet and get the set :/

      • Get it with a CC with price protection, then monitor sites for lower prices?

      • Lego is the only stockist for this set, and who knows if it'll ever get an actual price discount.

I'd wait for a double or triple VIP points promotion, maybe combined with a freebie set. That way, you get ~$65-100 off your next S&H order.

Use https://brickhawk.com/search/71043 for best deals on sets. Looks like shopforme has it, they usually has discounts quite often

    • Tried to sign up for brickhawk, but they never sent out my activation email. Any ideas?

  • Update: Ended up buying the Hogwarts set off Facebook marketplace for $500. It was still in the shipping box from Lego.

Update: retail exclusivity has just been announced. It'll make its way to Myer and DJs. Fingers crossed it gets a 20% + 10% off eBay code.
