On amazon.com.au on boxing day in the gaming section page 4 there is the 3ds xl.

Starts for Prime members at 13:59

Edit: I believe in the previous 99.0 sale the metallic black version was the least popular, so they may just be clearing out what they have

Edit 2: Now Metallic blue is on at 5.30 pm as well

I think the metallic blue was the least popular. It was the last to sell out.
