Wondering what everyone uses for flea treatment for dogs. Also how effective is it and if had any bad experiences? My vet suggested advantage flea treatment.

Advantix + Interceptor works best combined for ours.
If you have a bed experience, change the bed.
I'd suggest there were worse issues at hand if someone's been having bed experiences with their dog
Capstar to knock all fleas off then a monthly treatment of some kind
I like Sentinel Spectrum because it does worms as well and is in a chew form. My dogs go nuts rolling around and get covered in dirt if I use a spot on treatment. Keep in mind Sentinel does heart worm too though so you shouldn’t use it if your dog hasn’t had regular heart worm treatment.
Thanks. My vet also advised that I should use Cazitel worming and while this doesn't do heart worm, not to worry, as do not live in area that has this.
I googled this question several months ago. A couple of solid hours 'down the rabbit hole'. Chemicals, science etc. Very interesting, and easy to digest (/pun)
WAY too many variables/details to get a useful answer here, sorry to say.
i have two dogs and the thing i found worked despite buying numerous treatments, is Seresto flea collar. Made by Bayer Advantage - these things while not cheap last for at least 8 months. And more importantly work.
Online and in pet stores. https://www.vetsupply.com.au/flea-and-tick-collars/seresto-f…
No fleas on my dogs for the last 4 months.
