How Does This System Stack up on Price/Specs?

Hi all,

Looking for a system for a 13 year old who plays steam games e3tc and is looking at stepping up to bigger games.

How does this system sound and price?

that gpu is 150 bux but whole system costs a grand , so i'd rate it 15/100 for a gaming machine

He currently has a i7-3770 with 16gb ram and a 2tb HDD and 240gb SSD using onboard graphics. The CPU is a non K version and the board is a SME so doesn't allow overclocking.

Is it better to pay $250 for a rx580 or 1060 video card and upgrade his current or get this:

for an extra $250? is the new system more future proof?

  Keep your current system and add an RX570. Around $180.

  With that? You'd be fine to just throw in a proper GPU.
  
  Ah…3xxx you'd probably just want a 570. That CPU would bottleneck a 580.
  
  As for the actual system, I think it comes out at an extra hundred bucks. Fairly reasonable for a pre-built, though don't think I've heard of the store before?
