my mum went to our local woolies last Thurs (the day after the special started) and no one in the store knew anything about the ice cream bowls & there wasn't a single catalogue available for her to show them. They had plenty of the new ice cream varities though.
and no one in the store knew anything about the ice cream bowls & there wasn't a single catalogue available for her to show them.
all that means is that the staff kept them for themselves…
I'm sure if your mum interrogated them for a bit, one of them would have broken down and confessed…
This isn't entirely true. Quite often when there is a promo on like this, the manufacturer/company never manages to deliver the stuff in a timely manner, or even enough stock.
I just bought a tub today (1hr ago) from my local woolies and they said the bowl has run out already!!!! somehow i think they looked despicable and sly when they shaked their heads and said "we dont have it anymore u can go to other stores and check"!!
feel like being cheated!!
absolutely agree with you that they kept for themselves.
The bowls are small and made of cheap plastic. IMO it's worth less than a dollar.
They're ice cream bowls, not bowls for tom yum and the Flower Drum…
Have to agree with SakuraChan, I saw them last week and thought it was a pretty ordinary freebie… certainly not enough to entice me to buy the ice cream.
My local Woolies staff had no idea about the promo, but FWIW the bowls were on a custom display stand in the freezer section (not even in front of the ice cream section).
certainly not enough to entice me to buy the ice cream.
the ice-cream is also on sale… the bowl is just another bonus…
Well, the special price wasn't enough to convince me to try either ;)
Maybe I'm too much of an ice-cream snob… <3 Sara Lee
I want to try their hokey pokey so I might go into a different woolies tomorrow to check it out.
Yes the bowls are not worth the rrp but there were free and it's probably made to entice little kids.
I got the hokey pokey, the vanilla was nice and creamy but the honeycomb could've tasted better.
Bowl is very very average - tiny and made from cheap melamine! Not worth the $4.95!!! ( I got one of these last week) but still feel cheated!
There are better freebies you could give with an ice cream… like a Man Chew. Absolutely no function but it definitely beats a ice cream bowl.
like a Man Chew. Absolutely no function
Man Chew is my dog's favourite toy… :P
My dog ran away when she saw the Man Chew in my hand =\
I gave mine to my sister for her dog.
I saw the bowls yesterday and I wouldn't get too excited about it. I'd take it if I was buying the icecream anyway but not anything special.
I don't want this to be my first negative vote ever, but I'm sorry this is just a very lame attempt to rebrand a moderaterly high fat 'premium' icecream to kids.
You are much better to give the kid a paddle pop (according to streets.com.au) and not have a smile in every scoop and leave the high fat stuff to grown ups.
Or why not go one step better and make their new flavours in the low fat range. I actually prefer that to the standard stuff.
The Hokey Pokey is actually reduced fat ice cream
And a pretty ordinary one at that.
All I tasted was a large amount of sugar crunch from the caramel balls.
The ice cream in these new varieties IS low fat :)
The choc banana one is quite yum!
According to the catalogue, it is only with the NEW varieties…
