Need Recommendation on an Online Store: https://floratec.com.au/

Hello everyone.

There is this website which I found through Shopbot. Some of the prices are crazy cheap, like the Google Pixel 3. Usually it is around A$1200, but this website sells for 2/3 of the price, moreover, with 24 months manufacturer warranty.

Anybody has any idea if this website is legit? Any experience?

    No experience with them but I would send some emails before purchase to gain some evidence in writing if you need it, then pay with paypal which has good buyer protection.

    • Thanks. I have already sent an email and asked about the conditions of their product. Haven't heard back from them yet. The email is sales@… so, I don't think they get back to me. I have called them as well but no one picked up.
      BTW, they do have ABN, but does it mean anything (in terms of their legitimacy)?

    Although they have Paypal logo on the website, but in reality, you can only pay by card! There is no other option apart from "Credit Card / Debit Card"!!!

  • Weird typos at bottom. Could be legit, probably 1 man show operating it.

      Looks like that's supposed to be their mobile number at the bottom, but it's fake. But they do have a real number on their site, but I haven't tried calling it.

    I did a "test purchase" using a fake credit card on the 24th and I have now received the following email:

    You made payment with your Credit Card; however we will not be able to charge it because our credit card merchant account (payment gateway) is presently offline due to some software attack on the portal. Hence, we are been advice by our bank to process all payments manually, considering the safety of our customers credit cards details on our payment portal. Once the payment gateway issue is resolved, we will promptly start accepting credit cards payment via the process.

    Based on the advice from the bank the Management of Floratec PTY LTD will currently attend to customers who can make their payments via the manual payment system ( BANK TRANSFER) as alternative, where the money can be confirmed once payment is done and the packaging/shipping dept will proceed to package and ship your item to your delivery address without any form of delay.

    Shipping will be done as soon as we confirm the payment and DHL Express tracking number and Airway Bills will be forward, which will enable you monitor the package online until it arrive your doorstep.

        It was down on the 3rd of Jan. But you're right, it's up and running again.

        Edit: According to isitdownrightnow.com it came back online @ 5.22pm 5th Jan (Qld time)

  • So I got smoked and have reported this business as a scam.

    On boxing day I was using shopbot.com.au to search for the lowest price Dyson v10 vacuum cleaner. I found one through Flora Tec selling for $765. Normally it retails for about $999, but because it was Boxing Day, I figured the deal wasn't beyond the realms of a very good boxing day deal, despite the fact the next cheapest product I found was about $850…

    At first glance, the Flora Tec website looked pretty legit, it was secure https, had an ABN and website looked pretty good. I even emailed the [email protected] email address to query the product, to make sure it had all the attachments etc as the price seemed a little too good to be true. The seller assured me all was OK and to proceed with purchase if I was happy, so I did. This email was written in poor english, but I made the assumption it could have been someone from a non-english speaking background, which is not uncommon when purchasing electronics online.

    I got confirmation of my purchase from <[email protected]>. Interesting… not @floratec.com.au…

    A day after purchase I got the same email as above, though I never made the manual payment as requested. I also noticed an unauthorized transaction for $220 on my account from "SHOPBOT PTY LTD ROZELLE 74564728365" which was reported under the category of Advertising. …Hmmm I haven't purchased any advertising??? …so noticing this transaction, I then made the link between SHOPBOT and Flora Tec and got suspicious. I queried [email protected] to see what my order status was and got the following email: (note the different account for manual payment)


    "Hello,

    Thanks for mailing back.

    Your order as been process and ready for shipment and delivery, You have to proceed with the payment manually before your order can be sent and deliver to you.

    So kindly proceed with the manual payment.

    Shipping will be done as soon as we confirm the payment and DHL Express tracking number and Airway Bills will be forward, which will enable you monitor the package online until it arrive your doorstep.

    Below is Banking details for transfer.

    I immediately googled the name Lucas Omosimua Esiemokhai and whilst no direct results were returned, it appeared to be a name of Nigerian origin.

    So I rang the bank and reported the unauthorized transaction as fraudulent. They noted the transaction on their side was from "YFC SAS" which google tells me develops the website Shopbot. Bank said they will attempt to recover the funds and have cancelled my credit card.

    So, learn from my mistake. I am normally a pretty savvy online shopper and aware of scams, phishing etc etc. This one was pretty well disguised in my opinion. My bank never reported the transaction as dodgy to me.

    • Wow, sorry to hear that. Thanks to the ppl here (and some common sense), I didn't go through the purchase. I called them few days prior to posting here and they called me on the boxing day. A guy with strong accent called me to check is everything alright and such. They have also, emailed me to confirm everything is brand new and legit. But, it was too good to be true. I bought from JB at the end.

      Hopefully you get your money back from the botshop.

    im shaking.. crying.. my mother wanted to upgrade from her very old Samsung A3 to a samsung A8 32gb.

    She has always reminded me (last year before christmas if there is phone updated than her a3 and if its on
    special she would buy it..
    Mums English isnt that good and doesent know how to use a computer.

    a month later i saw a deal with FLORATEC for $ 460 samsung A8.

    i told her ill pay an extra 60 from my centrelink money.

    she gave me her card and watched me purchase this item on JAN15 /2019
    Flora emailed my receipt and wrote 3 days shipping.
    its now JAN23…

    my heart just sunk just an hour agowhen she told me she thinks i transfered her money to a friend or myself to pocket $400. getting yelled at.. im trying to explain..

    im a man in my 30's.. on centrelink atm
    never felt this feeling ever.. heart just sunk when i read this thread and someone said it is 100% scam site

    please help me, if its possible to go bank and tell them our situation?
    we paided with her debit card (i gave her $60 also)..
