Missed AmEx P.E. travel credit expire date. Ideas?

So called up mid year to find travel credit expiry date. Was told the end of the year Dec 31.

Just called up again for another reason, and re confirmed travel deadline. Was told it was Dec 10, but yearly fee is payable Dec 31.

Was told we missed it, can't extend etc. They asked for date/ time of previous conversation. All I knew was late July (sad when you need to document every conversation).

So. Looking at account right now there is the new $200 travel credit. What happens if we use that, then cancel before Dec 31?

Anyone done this, or other ideas? Cheers

    I am pretty sure that when I had some that I could see their expiry dates when I logged in to my Amex travel account.

      Never looked. Just took their word for it and wrote it on back of card. Will have a look, Cheers

    Yes, ring AMEX and talk to them again. I found that they were always quite flexible in their approach to things (except their annual fee).

    Have in mind what you want to use it on first sp you can tell them straightaway when they say that theyre willing to extend it.

        If the next operator desnt help don't forget to raise a complaint about the july advise you got so that the complaints team can resolve it.
