Spacerail Marble Rollercoaster Toy (Glow in The Dark) $19 + Free Shipping @ Kogan (Was $59)

1250

I'd previously bought one of these Spacerail toys a few years back. Pretty good fun; great for the kids, and us adults who like the Gravitram!

Gravitram, you say?? http://www.gravitram.com/index_and_chronology_of_gravitra.ht…

Because they're modular, you can customise and connect with other sets. Buy a couple and chain them together in various configurations.

  • good find ops, been looking for ages….but never bought one.

  • Oh nice. I’ve got this very one (from Jaycar for about $50). Spose I’ll get another one for my Dad

Thanks op. Bought one to go in the gift cupboard. Someone will enjoy it.

  • Already overspent this month, don't know why I bought this… :S

$21.28 on ebay from kogan and dick smith.

  • Thank OP, this will keep my kid entertain for at least a week!

  • So the track glows but not the marble/ball? I'd pay another $5 if the marble glowed…

Just an idea…. maybe the marbles can be dipped in some sort of glow in the dark paint? I've just ordered this toy. I wonder if there's a marble of suitable size, with LED inside… that would be wicked too.

    • Would be better if the ball did, the tracks dont glow very well and the marbles are hard to see going around (in a very dark room).

here you go. I guess find the right diameter?

I have one of these. Took me a couple of hours to assemble, very hard (for me at least) to get the positions and angles just right and not have marbles coming off. Have to readjust/tighten if I dont use it for a while.

Dont get me wrong, its fun, but very fiddly.

BOUGHT!…for the child inside this 31 year old shell of a man.

Wow u can buy 3 sets and it'd still cost less than rrp.

  • Does anyone know why rechargeable batteries are NOT recommended for use in these? (based on some of the commentary in this video i'm thinking battery overheating may be an issue??) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhxUxWMBQGU

    • Possibly because rechargable batteries when fully charged have a significantly lower voltage than alkalines when fully charged. Assuming relatively small current draw from motor alkaline batteries would result in the motor running faster at the start of its lifetime slowing down as the batteries are gradually depleted.

  • Are you sure it actually is spacerail and not some knock off?

  • This looks like the one I saw in Jaycar…

    https://www.jaycar.com.au/space-rail-construction-kit/p/KJ90… $29.95

DO NOT BUY. These are truly a piece of garbage. Very difficult to put together and even more difficult to get it run right. :( Cheap chinese knockoff that will only provide hours of frustration.

    • If this is a cheap chinese knockoff, what is the product it's trying to copy?

      • +3

I reckon it is a knockoff of the legit Spacerail. https://spacerails.com/collections/glow-in-the-dark . Check the logo on the boxes for starters. They are different. Trust me the one that Kogan is selling is absolute crap.

Most, if not all, things that bogan kogan sells is cheap crap. This is another prime example.

I see your level 5 and raise you a level 9!

  • I got one….

    Wont arrive by Tues, but.

There is a walkthrough on building this on YouTube if it's not clear on the paperwork. Thanks I brought one.

  • All gone now

  • Picked this up today from post office. The box was smashed but doesn't appear any part/pieces are missing/broken. It's for me so don't care for condition of the box but poof effort by Auspost.
