Telstra Bonus 35GB Data Per Month for Existing Customers at End of Contract

Just got an SMS from Telstra saying I was getting 35GB bonus data every month until I get a new plan to thank me for being a loyal customer and to encourage me to stay with Telstra. I’ll now be getting 45GB per month for $40 which seems pretty reasonable. Contract expires next month.

    Looks like they are just catching you up to current day plans. The current equivalent Telstra plan at JB Hifi is $45 a month for 50gb so yours is a tiny bit cheaper for a little less data.

  • I've been getting screwed by Telstra for years never had them pro actively try and give me a decent deal lucky you.
    I live off grid and rely on Mobile Data and have been paying through the nose for a service that drops out more and more. Have been paying $150/month for 60Gb eventually it went to 80gb. Recently i had to go back onto another 24month contract $80/80Gb/Month Getting closer to being acceptable but i've been paying a premium for so long it would be nice to be able to get a decent deal for something most take for granted.

    • You should try wrangle some complaining through the resolutions line to see if they can keep you unshaped (assume you on the wireless broadband deal).

      Whilst not off grid, I have no option but to use wireless as NBN is coming to the area and as a result Telstra weren’t increasing adsl slots nor was any other providers. Telstra came to the party (keep paying a high rate - $115 with Telstra platinum support, and they would unshape me along the way until new services were around) given that my usage is around 300gb a month. I will disclaim this was on the back of already having a cable plan with that much usage (and moving into the area). Just saying - have a bit of complain to either reduce price or work out more usage :)

    Thanks for posting! I've been out of contract for a few months and they didn't run a "health check" at the end of my contract so I'm chatting with them now.

  • Far out that's not a bad deal. Seems like they are getting pretty serious with their data allowances and keeping customers.

      They better be after all those outages and downtime throughout 2018 😂

      • TBH it just seems like they cop a lot more publicity unlike when a competitor like Vodafone goes down.

    I thought I’d try my luck on one of our my plus plans ($50). Unless you receive the message or want to recontract, they can’t do anything.

      I also have loyalty bonus and mobile credit so was staying on the old BYO plan out of contract, but chatted with them yesterday and when I asked if I could get the bonus they are advertising on https://www.telstra.com.au/deals/bonus-data-bestowal-35gb they agreed to add it, no recontracting.
