Looking for a UHD TV ~$1000, with the following:
Good question - 55"
Was tempted to go with this – https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tcl/tcl-c6us-55-4k-uhd-android-led… – but I'm not sure the refresh rate would suit sport (AFL). Also, not a fan of the look of that sound bar attached, but would get over it.
Also, am wondering what OS I should look for - Android, Roku, other? The UI and app selection in my old LG that I'm replacing was a bit underwhelming.
Just get a chromecast ultra. Fast, support for all the main apps, easy to use.
TV with good picture quality first, app support second
Can you control Plex via Chromecast with just a TV remote? I'm trying to avoid using another device to control Plex. My existing TV lets me do this through an installed app
You should try LG new Web OS, It so much better then there old Smart TV OS. There AI Voice Control, Built-In Chromecast, Lots of apps and games and better looking than Adnroid TV. The only downside is no Kodi but Plex replaces that.
What about future-proofing? Is WebOS (or any other OS) still going to be upgradeable for the expected life of the TV?
Is Plex available as an app?
@RangaWal: Yes, Plex can be downloaded from the app store. There are also updates now and then, which adds new features or makes it faster/less buggy.
any Panasonic Viera TV is grouse
OK, so I think I've narrowed it down to the following:
* Panasonic TH55FX800A - $1272
* Samsung UA55NU8000 - $1243
* Hisense 55P7 - $993
* LG UK6540- $931
* Sony KD55X9000F - too much
I'm happy to spend any of these amounts, but can't decide which one to get, and why.

Does everything on the list there support HDR10?
Thanks - looking more like the UA55NU8000 will win out.
