  There are only 2 flights per day departing from that terminal, so I can immediately assure you that the terminal itself will be quite small and under utilised.
  Considering that Air Asia is a budget Airline, I don't foresee there being many large duty free items that are worth it - there just isn't the demand for it.
  Your best option would be to buy things, and claim it under TRS.

  JR and City Duty Free in the CBD are better bets than Avalon.

  Dans are usually cheaper.

  $20 for three packets of Tim tams are apparently a bargain according to the duty free.

    I got $24 for 4 packs the other day at Sydney T1, so I think I win ;)

    EDIT: I didn't buy any, it sounded like I did. I'd rather for $24 go buy 13 packs at Coles for $1.82 each!
