    Thanks OP, Xmas lunch sorted!

    • you deserve more upvotes.

especially considering they eat Guinea Pig in Peru.

      Rabbit stew is common

pretty sure the Chinese will eat cat as well.

      • He's got plenty of upvotes, there's just a type of person on ozbargain who doesn't get a decent joke and considers repeating 'bikies' or '80k investment car' to be outrageously funny. These people are down voting it.

        • i like bikies in 80k high yield investment vehicles

    • LOL
I’m a cat lover, but this is the funniest comment I’ve read all year.

  • Probably be free in the new year

If you already have a rabbit and are looking for another, please don't just adopt one.

Rabbits are extremely territorial and will literally fight to the death of not bonded correctly.

We had to take our boy to the RSPCA for a bunny date to find him a partner. Took about 3 or 4 visits until they were successfully bonded and are now best friends.

    • Wow, i learn something new from OzBargain everyday.

    • +3

yeah that's how my Tinder dates usually go as well.

Is "bonding" a euphemism? I mean, we are discussing rabbits here!

  • $30 for a guinea pig… They're less than that in the local classifieds. Get two boys for companionship and you won't have a problem with having many more running around in a few months.

    • Yeah you kind of missed the point of adoption.

How ridiculous doing this just before Xmas, when they turn around and say too many people give dogs and cats as gifts without thinking through the consequences, and when people dont want them they end up abandoning them or returning them to places like the RSPCA.

    • then the RSPCA charges another $30 to the next poor sucker hence a business is born

      • +11

Do you really think they are making money by desexing, vaccinating & microchipping then adopting them out for $30.00 lol.

The RSPCA are a community based charity that works to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. So negging because of the time of year they are doing this is ridiculous.

i know i buy my free range chicken RSPCA approved!

        • $30 is a loss-leader.

@whooah1979: Lol they're a charity, they aren't a business that breeds animals for a profit. Please do some research before commenting.

            • @WatchNerd: The loss-leader is to get customers in the door in hope that they'll spend money in their shop.

"With an overall kill rate exceeding 50 per cent, it is disconcerting to know that the RSPCA made more than $10 million profit last year, received a $7.5 million government grant, and holds more than $30 million in shares and other investments."

If they don't get adopted they'll be dead anyway. At least these ones are desexed so won't create any more.

      • ohhh so it's not chicken then?
