I second this, I had a black one the paint does come off Eventually after about 20-30 washes so I just scratched it off with a scourer, buy the SS one and it will be fine. The Loop 2.0 lid washes easy and is dishwasher safe. Also fits fine in my cars cup holders, and in my kayaks.
I've got several of these. I only handwash them myself but the lids have a springloaded mechanism which makes it easy to open up and clean.
You suspect wrong, the lid is dishwasher safe and the stainless steel one is safe to use in the dishwasher, as pointed out by others the painted surface will over time start to wear off but it's brushed stainless underneath.
So very easy to keep clean, my wife uses one daily and aside from the coating starting to wear off after a full year it's still like new.

Yes not worth it unless you are a Prime member and spend >$49. I've had stuff in my cart waiting to get over $49 so with this it was worth it.

Whats the difference between the Auto-Seal ones and the Snap-Seal ones in the Contigo brand ? Is One better than the other ?
Very well insulated travel mug, keeps my coffee hot and in Summer keeps drinks cold. I have had one full of ice blocks and it was still mostly ice after 6 hours. They are a little "fat" so I do have issues with some cup holders in cars.
These work great but hard to keep clean. The base isn't dishwasher safe
Have one of these mugs and they're not too bad if you look after them. I bought it for $29 around 1 year ago. At this price, its a steal.
Pro:
-Solid build/design
-Safety locking mechanism (prevents spilling if button is pushed)
-Keeps beverage quite warm for a decent amount of time
-Despite the debate (in the above comments) whether it is dishwasher safe or not. I have used it multiple times in the dishwasher and it works fine. However, I prefer to clean it right after finishing my beverage straight away. I find the easiest and fastest way to clean it is pour boiling water into it right after you finish your drink, shake it, push the button to release pressure (ensure the mug is facing away from you), and pour out the water. Do this twice and you should be good to go.
Cons:
-Does not fit in standard cup holders
-Easily scratches
-Would recommend cleaning right after you finish your beverage, as the lid, spring, and other components can get dirty/stained and which can be difficult to clean if you have left it for couple hours.

Its not dishwasher safe in that the paint will come off. Thats why they say the stainless steel one is 'dishwasher safe' as it has no paint to come off.
I'd be surprised if the paint isn't coming off on yours as a family member put mine in once and some bits of paint had come off.
Thank you for response. Mines been in dishwater (Brand: Westinghouse Dishwasher, Dishwasher Settings: Eco, Dishwashing tablets are Finish Tablets Powerball Quantum Ultimate) numerous times and its come out fine. Sometimes the paint does come off but that's because carelessness of leaving it close to my knives or anything sharp.

I got one under the previous deal. It's ok - nothing flash. It's too fat to fit my cupholders in my car, and the plastic lid currently has a bit of a plastic taste (which I'm sure will go away with use). The auto seal feature is good.
