one of my best purchases of the year. spent quite a while researching and came to this model.. it has saved me a number of times already and much much better the the no name ones online

  • few dollars cheaper than amazon

  • I've never used one of these. Is there any risk if kept in a hot car during summer? Are there any precautions people take?

    • Make sure your battery is lead-acid type because that's the only type this apparently supports.

    • Some li-ion battery types are substantially safer than others, for example LiFePo4 batteries are much more resistant to bursting into flames when abused. The listing doesn't say what type of li-ion battery is in this device.

I believe all li-ion battery types have a much higher self-discharge rate when stored at high temperature, so the battery may be flat when you need it. It may actually be better to store the battery somewhere in your engine compartment, than in the cabin which can reach 70 degrees in some parts of Australia. Of course, don't store it on the exhaust side of the engine, that side will be hotter.

I have the GB70 - havent had to jump start the car yet, it's for when we travel around Australia next year!

  • Hopefully a serious question from an Auto Nerd, - Nearly pressed the button on buying one of the gooloo ones which ozB members have suggested in the past - just waiting for a better discount code, , Is this a better unit? , have needed roadside assistance twice in two months to jump the battery due to my own fault. -

I bought a Suaoki 20,000mAh and used it once to jump start a friends Hilux.

This Noco brand is little different to others.

  • How long do the batteries in these last? Description just says "li-ion", so do they last longer than the typical 3-5 years you get from a mobile phone battery?

    • I think ages. Really you use the thing once in a blue moon but when you have to use it your wrapped that you bought it.

I bought this yesterday from Amazon and it claims delivery before Christmas. Wouldnt it be light years better value than one listed. or am I missing something. I was originally looking for the G2000 with 20800mah battery but couldnt see it being sold anywhere (Old indigogo campaign) so got the 1500A version of same brand

I also bought this for the parents 4 cyc car cause it was cheap and Still 2 way USBc

  • I got the 2000 amp one used it yesterday to jumpstart a V6 Diesel that had been sitting for 6 months. Started first crank. Very good piece of kit. 1000 amp should be good for most petrol cars. Go a bit more for Diesels just in case.
