I recently switched over from Aldi to Boost mobile and haven't been impressed with the coverage.
I thought that in terms of MVNOs that use Telstra, Boost utilises the full Telstra network while others (Aldi, Woolies, Belong, etc.) don't have access to the full Telstra network?
Since moving to Boost, the 4G reception in my work kitchen is essentially non-existent while I haven't noticed any improvements with the reception on the train to/from work. Sydney metro area by the way.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Not sure, but I think Telstra has better coverage on average, but that is not the same thing as having better coverage at a certain location. For example I can go out to country towns and only telstra (and boost) works, none of the others do.
But if you're somewhere like a metro city, it typically comes down to the radio tower and location etc, you might be closer to a Optus one then a Telstra one and get better Optus coverage.
Sydney metro can also be spotty, in particular chatswood to central I find my internet cuts out every time (this is purely telstra, not boost), though central to parra I don't typically have any issues. Could just be the normal coverage around.
