Had a look at a few stores for a wok & frypan as a christmas gift (electric).
Seem to start at ~50 for a pan and ~75$ for a wok. Frypan & Wok @ HN
Seems the sunbeam brand costs a little bit extra, is there much difference in quality between them? Never bought these so just curious for opinions, or other brands/stores I should have a look at before purchasing the gift
Had to Google what that was - but definitely recommend it. Parents have had theirs for a long time now (going on 20+ years now)
Went through 3 Sunbeam Class Banquet Frypan in a year (covered with warranty) when I temporary moved interstate. They just don't last.
The pan is thin and doesn't distribute heat quickly. The result is burnt food in near the coil area and under cook other places. The concentrated heat around the coil area also causes the non-stick layer peeled off.
The heating element can get rusty, unless you wash the pan really really carefully, which can be a nuance if you need to use it often.
It's good to keep food warm in the banquet, but if you thinking to use it to replace convention frypan / wok, it just wouldn't work.

Ended up going with the VS Sasson from good guys, picking it up Saturday and hoping to get the wok and fry pan while I'm out too. Didn't know I needed to announce what my decision was in the post.

Carbon Steel Wok is your only option for a Wok - Any electric wok is just going to boil your food and never get hot enough. Then all that non stick sh1t will peel off and end up in your food. A properly seasoned Carbon Steel Wok will give you non stick properties without the garbage.
