  • Is this considered small?

We are currently looking for a fridge and not sure what to look at.
Ideally wanting front water/ice dispenser that’s plumbed.

Our current is too small. Top freezer and bottom fridge.

    • No, it's large.

    • +1

For a couple is big. For a family of 4+ it's small

I have the same fridge in 2 door form. If I didn't have a 2nd fridge in the garage it wouldn't be big enough for our family of 5. It was the biggest that would fit though.

      • This.

We would find 519L tiny, but it's actually big compared to what gets made. It depends on how much you cook - my partner cooks alot and uses a variety of ingredients.

The freezer is always tiny, even on a big fridge. On a bottom mounted freezer it's even worse because the compressor is usually at the bottom and takes up heaps of what would have otherwise been freezer space.

Even with two adults and two very young kids (ie: they don't have their own things in the fridge) we run out of fridge space after grocery shopping and have to cram everything in until at least a couple of nights of cooking has been done. Although ours is less than 519L, by the time our kids are bigger it's going to be a struggle even with a bigger fridge.

For us I think the only solution would be around 500L pure fridge (no freezer) and 200L separate freezer.

The frustrating thing is, 20 years ago, big enough single fridge/freezers existed. My partners parents still run one and it has heaps of space in both fridge and freezer. Probably not energy efficient though as the wall thickness is low.

    • I have this exact same one. It's big. But I wish it comes with front ice dispenser…

  • BLOODY <insert proper swearing here>!!! Just bought it a few days ago from ebay-appliancesonline at 10% off!!! although applianacesonline do free delivery and their base price is cheaper than TGG, im still losing $91 in total.
