Indoor Mozzie Protection at Night

I’ve been using Mortein plugin (electrical) mozzie protection for a few years - I believe last year, they changed their system and refill cardridges again so I bought the latest model (Peaceful Nights I think it’s called). I like it that you can press it to switch it on and off and it also shuts off after x hours. I’ve got 3 of these new Mortein plugs for the bedrooms and was going to but some refills earlier but they’re unavailable at both my local Coles and Woolies (RRP $13 apparently). The cartridge + plug combined are now $10, so cheaper than just the refill cartridges. I just don’t want to buy more plugs which I don’t need as they’ll end up in the bin otherwise. I’ve looked online and can’t fidn the refills anywhere cheap. What do you guys use in terms of plug-in mozzie protection at night and where do you stock up on refills?

This is probably a silly question but why not close doors and windows to stop mozzies coming in for first place? Then no need for these kind of products, with exception of a quick fly spray, should one sneak through door.

    • We leave windows open at night and not all windows are suited for flyscreens.

  • Mozzie net is luxury.

  • I use an electric bug zapper

  • Mozzie net at the door of bedroom is a life saver. It is so good and cheap ( just need to secure it and super glue the magnet plastics when they fall off. ) due to constant going in and out… but they are AWESOME

We're in exactly the same position as you. Can no longer get the old Mortein tabs easily and we've bought a couple of those new ones at $10ea half price. Would be good to know when the refills come on special as it seems ridiculous to pay $13 for just the refill when the whole unit can be bought for $10.
